Evening Tithe!

Passed my Written/Oral comprehensive exams, and I am now a doctoral candidate! Next step is getting that five chapter scholarly paper done, which precludes WitP AE these days ..

Way to go!

What field are you now a doctoral candidate in?

Thanks so much!

Doctor of Nursing Practice [Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Speciality] My Capstone Project is a Formative Program Evaluation of the of Crucial Conversations(tm) Program. BTW) USS America I am using a hosiptal in your parts [Fayetteville] for my program fidelity evalaution.

In answering the PoultryMan .. It is bad enough that I check in here, and post in the Cap's, CR's, and NY59Giants AAR's ..Let alone try and turnaround turns I think I will have the time to engage in a game after finishing my Boards in June.

Ok Early Morning tithe!

Much congrats is in order for the dedication , Crackaces.

The GNPs I've come in contact with give me more confidence that I'm being cared for correctly than doctors.

Flirting with 50F here, NoDak. C'mon-get with the times, man. Calendar says its Spring-why doncha play along? We're being dragged into the thaw, try it out-you might like it.

The Wall Street Journal had a big article about the Bakken and the oil rush economy there. Amazing. Good news: starting wages at the McDonald's are $12 an hour in the area! Many jobs have had raises of 33%-45% in the last two years.

Bad news: Rent has gone from $600 to $2000 / month and exorbitant cost of living is chasing away much of the middle class.

Thanks very much! I am very pleased that you have has good experiences with NP's

Certainly Kleinpell (2008) Nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the intensive care unit: An evidence-based review indicates that ACNP's do no worse than MD Intensvists We do spend time doing health promotion, which on occasion sticks and we change lives.

A very real debate for Health Care in the United States is occuring right now and consumers are very very confuised. The AMA and AAFP are hard at work lobbying and shaping the debate to "Nurses diagnosing patients is dangerious!" First, we are advanced practice nurses with graduate level training specializing in a specfic population, not simply RN's. That aside .. in Arizona independent practice has been the case for many years now, and NP's have proven themselves a valuable asset provding health care. However, Florida and Alabama are examples where the scope of practice is much more restricted. So the powers to be want are working very hard to prevent these states from assuming the scope of practice now in Arizona. It is interesting times these days. Facts are not the word of the day ..... I read comments in AARP and NPR as examples and it can be very discouraging. "I want to be treated by a doctor not a nurse!" . That tells me we are losing the public information battle ..

Don't make me come down there Mister.

And finally we're tapping into projects out there. Thus new job. Busiest I have been in almost five years. Feels good.

First, public apology to my partners in the 3x2 game we are playing. I messed up the turns and didn't get one of the players moves in. Totally my fault. I have taken steps to prevent this in the future.

Now, family vacation update: just back from The Johnson Space Center. Very nice. Well recommended!

Off to the USS Texas tomorrow!

Congrats Aces.  I would rather have a NP taking care of me.  But I may be a little biased.

When you're used to playing the AI, it's easy to forget what an aggressive Allied human player can do. Andy Mac and I are playing Scenario 2, and he's kinda kicking my Japanese rump.
