Sorry to hear that. In my defense, I wasn't a manager. I was the guy going flying with that peice of lowest bidder built article of equipment. As someone who depended on that equipment (sometimes with my life) , and the person maintaining it, I would have been delighted if someone HAD taken that $5.00 bill. That would have meant that someone had taken out that equipment, and presumably checked it out (that doing hi or her job thing).The fact that it wasn't taken , well.......

Depends on the check that is required as well as the individual doing the work. Taking boxes in and out every single time it's been flying is not a good use of time or manpower.

True. But avionics of that type generally require test bench equipment. And when I pulled the Maintainance instruction , the 1st thing it called for was to "remove from plane". When I did it , I had a close friend in on it (as a witness and co-conspiritor). And being a flight engineer (and therefore a powerplants specialist when he was flying) he was well aware of the problem. He latter used the incidents to "go off" on the maintance senior chief.

Officially I was termed a "utility crewman" and it was only a VERY short time. But anyone whose ever had a "Flag officer" aboard knows what it's like to be steward.

Good Morning Tithe!

Sunny and a brisk 75F is forecasted for the Valley of the Sun today

However, as usual I am pounding away on my keyboard slowly making progress ..

I plan to take a short break in May and get some golf in for sure!
