I was running a test just to see what the AI would do and wanted it to run continuously for a while. I set it appropriately in the settings and walked away. I came back 2 hours later and saw that it had reverted to 1 turn and that only 1 turn had gone by. Ideas?

Set the game to Both Computer and let it rip.

Hi,

You need to turn off "Show Combat Animations" and "Show Combat Summaries" also or it will wait for input. You can always stop it by pressing F9.

I have but really don't play WitP. I have attempted it a few times, but find it micromanagement hell.

Mind you, I play a lot of microing games. Distant Worlds with all automation off, War in the East, Paradox titles such as HoI3, Vicky2, EU3. But I find the WitP way more micromanagement than any of those.

What I have always wish for was a way to let the AI run PART of my side. Like let me give orders to what I want to, and then let the game run everything else.

Any way to do something similiar to this?

And anyone out there find a way that this game can be managed, micro wise?

Nope the game is what it is. AE went a step further into micromanaging.
