What am I doing wrong? I down load, but the file opens in notepad. When I save as and change to .zip instead of .txt, when I double click on the saved file, it says that the file is not recognized.

Thanks

If anybody would like to try this scenario for themselves you can download it from the attachment below and then rename the file
by clipping off the ".txt" from the end so that it's a zip file.
So the name of the file "lgf_Barbarosa 41.zip.txt" would become lgf_Barbarosa 41.zip

If you opened the file in Notepad and THEN did a save-as you will have destroyed all the zip characteristics. What you want to do is
download the file and just save it w/o opening it w/ Notepad and change the filename to somethingDOTzip instead of whatever it is named
when you download it. I just downloaded it just now and renamed the file to a zip using Windows Explorer ( the operating system ) by
doing a right click on the name of the file and choosing rename from the pop-up list. Then when I double click on the file it shows me
the contents of the zip file ( lgf_Barbarosa41.sce ).

And here's some good news. That Special Forces unit that was surrounded near Moscow survived and is going to be used again
in some useful way. This is the view of Moscow in T26:

Beating up Elmer in any "all of the east front" scenario is the TOAW equivalent of snatching candy from babies :)

Yeah, my change to increase the supply of the Axis side has made them unbeatable so I'll have to adjust event number 312 to add only
15 instead of 30 to the supply. And then I need to playtest it by playing the Soviet side to see if anybody can still beat the Axis. It needs
to be "balanced" you see.

Here's the T30 front lines. It's mostly just mop-up all over the map to get the remnants.

You have noticed the obvious and you're entirely correct. The scenario is not balanced very well. I'm going to make some changes.
One change that I need to make is event 312 where I bump up the supply by 30 in turn 1. I'm thinking I need to cut that in half and
maybe then it'll be more balanced. Also I want to do an AAR where I playtest this scenario from the Soviet side. Just to make sure it's
more balanced. So I'm going to start over with the changed scenario and playtest this scenario from the Soviet side..

Here's one change I want to make to help the PO. I'm going to change event number 8 so that the supply radius is 15 rather than 0.

Here's the updated scenario in case anybody wants to play w/ it some. Just rename the file by clipping off the ".txt" ( dot txt ) to make
it a zip file again.

Here's the supply situation in turn 1 in the Leningrad area. As you can see the overwhelming majority of the units are in garrison mode.

Here's the situation near Riga. As you can see in turn 1 most of the units are in garrison mode and so there's not much for me to do
for the Soviet units except for changing them to "ignore losses" setting.

Here's the German supply situation in turn 2. I may have extended the supply radius ( 15 ) a little too far since the German supply is
pretty much the same as last time. Well, we'll play it a few turns and see if it makes a difference in gameplay.

I looked it up in the "3.5 what's new.doc" thingie about it and sure enough it's there. So I'm guessing that's what you'll need.

Tantalising. I asked Ralph for this but had no idea he'd actually done anything on it.

I had to search through the entire thread to find what you're referring to.. but well.

Trusted PBEM - while the option button exists, the actual option doesn't yet. But planned for 3.5, yes.

Here's the T3 front lines. The Soviet front lines aren't as sexy as the Axis front lines are they?
