The internal playtest of Weserübung has started. Playing 5-6 regimes for 60 rounds with a lot of units is taking its time.
So I need to do something else inbetween.

I have started work on Operation Merkur, the German airborne invasion of Crete.
In retrospect I really should have made this my first scenario for Blitzkrieg. It is much simpler to set up than Weser and I'll probably be able to release this scneario first.

The 1km/hex of the whole of Crete is finished, and very large it is. Most of the action will take part in three limited sectors though.
The Allied land units (Britain, Australia, New Zeeland and Greece) have finished their deployment.

Here's the Maleme-Suda sector.

Showing off a part the 290x80 hex map of the island. I will add 'off-map' the ports of Malta, Alexandria and various Greek island airfields.

Looking very nice. If you need a bit of testing, versus AI or versus player, just say so

Here are a few new aircraft graphics while you wait.
Note the DFS-230 glider used by the first battalion of the Sturm regiment.
The scenario is basically finished and internal playtesting is starting now.
Weser is put on hold for now, I believe Crete will be available sooner.

Update on Crete.
Currently adding individual exp and moral values to each formation before starting what is hopefully the last PBEM play-test.
If anyone want to take a look at it, send an email to erik.nygaard@nrk.no.

I have added a number of new SFTs. Since the editor manual does not include any of the formulas that is the basic of the original combat values etc, I decided to create my own for all the different weapon classes. Yes, every SFT was recalculated.I made sure I got results wich are comparable to Vic's values. In testing I got acceptable results for the various combat situations.

Below are some of the new graphics, note the flamethrower and satchel charge for the (combat) engineers.
