ORIGINAL: Symon Love your house. Hate to hijack, but. ‘Kay, you all know my friend Matt Norton (Mr. infantry). Well, he came by to visit a couple years ago and brought his youngest. Everything was wonderful till my youngest niece Christine shows up with her big eyes and bouncy curls. Make a long story short, he’s going to propose to her this weekend. They are in the area and are going down to Perdido Key and will do the deed in the surf. Unbeknownst to Matt Jr, Matt sent me a ring that his great grandfather gave to his darling the day before he joined his regiment and went to war. He survived and married Margaret, but that ring has been passed down through the generations. So now I have to do a short stop on Matt Jr’s proposal and hand him something different. Ring was made in 1916 and it’s breathtakingly beautiful. I’ll take some pictures once it’s on her finger, so ya’ll can see. Won’t look like much, because back then people didn’t have this thing about huge diamonds. But its history goes back to Finland and Lithuania and the Russia of 1916. And I actually get to do the presentation. I feel very, very, humble. Damn, porterhouse steaks from Moseleys, and some of Espinoza’s best Chilean wine. Damn, what a weekend. Ciao. John John-what a great way to pass along an heirloom. Hope it's appreciated for what it represents for the family.
