Both if you like both tactical and operational level of play as I do.. I have been playing CoH latest dlc and it is great tactical. Classic board game feel. Eric outta get a medal (and lots of revenue stream) for making a game like this.

Just dl'd GaW and easy polished operational look at same eastern front. CoH is a classic. This GaW looks pretty darn good out the chute, too. Let your playing level preference dictate choice is my opinion as both won't disappoint on content, etc.

Well right now, I've got the money for just one new game. I'll probably go with CoH as I do enjoy the tactical and really enjoyed the demo. This looks really nice too - but your comment CoH is a classic is probably going to sway me. Maybe come back for this title at a later date.

It really is a question of which scale and style of gameplay you prefer. Both are excellent games. Germany at War is a spiritual successor to the Panzer General and Panzer Corps style of games, but takes those in a more historical direction. It can be learned easily and played casually for those that prefer the more beer and pretzels wargames, but you do feel that you are fighting within the context of historical orders of battle, historical map and unit scales and historical unit upgrades, as well as a replayable campaign that can take you through Barbarossa with any of the three Army Groups (your choice where you focus). Conflict of Heroes is a great tactical game of WWII combat - very good against the AI with a lot of great scenarios and easy to connect with other wargamers and outstanding when played multiplayer.

Regards,

- Erik

Hahahaha now you are tempting me the other way - I enjoyed Panzer Corps, my only complaint was that it wasn't very historical. However, I usually do prefer tactical games - my all time favorite was CMBO/CMBB/CMAK and I did enjoy the less complex Battle Academy but it did lack that historical flavor that I do sometimes crave.

You won't go wrong with either - get one now, the next one later?

I have played both, you are asking car or truck. There is no correct answer.
