Rome II is good, but takes some getting used to. The naval combat especially...

Three main negatives on Rome II:

- Naval combat is extremely difficult to get used to. It's a real crap shoot, even if you supposedly outnumber the enemy.

- The AI (both strategic and tactical) can't really cope, and does some strange stuff sometimes.

- The GUI is REALLY cluttered. Far too many buttons on far too little screen real estate.

I loved and played original "Shogun - Total War", "Rome - Total War" and "Medieval - Total War" but I never played the "IIs" (i.e. new supposedly extremely updated and refined versions)...

Just kept hearing too many bad things about the second generation of the TW games. Stuck pretty much with Medieval - Total War. It's quite good, especially with the "big map" and 1-year turn mods.

Hey Leo,

Do you have any recommendations for good PC video capture software? Has to be freeware.

Also, clean out your PM inbox.

What would you like to capture Kristian (i.e. what kind of video and from what source)?

Screen capture from my PC monitor, i.e. recording whatever happens on the screen...

I'm thinking about doing an AE video or two. I'm looking at a program called ezvid...

OK... so you would like to capture WitP-AE screen and add your voice commentary to it or just have WitP-AE screen?

BTW, for game capturing I use FRAPS (it is ShareWare)!

I want to capture and provide audio commentary. I know of fraps, and I should probably take a look at it, too... Not sure I want to put down $37 for it, but we shall see...

Do you want me to ask Joel (he made WMV videos for game introduction for "Gary Grigsby's War Between the States") how he did it?

I can also ask about new WitW game introduction video that were just made for latest WitW ALPHA build...
