He he, one time I thought a sub had sunk one of my opponent's IJN carriers, but it turned out to be a merchant with the same name, like 'Akagi Maru' or some such!

Well you certainly should've received the same number of victory points!

Mauritius is a big hog for a CL, it's got 1,000 tons on the Brooklyn class.

1/1/42 Happy New Year. Here's my intel on Luzon. I don't have good figures on Iba, but I don't think there's much there. He keeps shifting stuff around, hasn't decided whether to make a big production at Manila or not. I am resolute and will decide for him.

I have to run, he just sent me another turn.

1/7/42 Raiden has spotted something he believes to be an invasion fleet escorted by CVs north of Fiji. I think he's seeing ghosts. Actually I have some subs herding a pod of blue whales in that area. They are being trained to ram LSTs in order to capsize them. In other news:

The air attack on the port of Singapore is the second (including yesterday's). I presume Raiden went ahead and sent reinforcements there. I suppose for the time being they will not be able to leave. I intend to keep it that way.

1/8/42 Raiden was right. I am about to add Fiji to my empire. I will be moving it to my home world for safe keeping. I'll remove the flags, of course.

1/9/42 CA Astoria and CL Concord with some DDs made a valiant charge at my invasion force. The cruisers are no more but some of the DDs may still be in shape to do some damage. Anyways, the charge discombobulated my landing TFs so they are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, and have failed to land any troops yet. I trust they will tomorrow.

1/12/42 Two more cruisers charged my invasion fleet and missed. CA Australia is gone, I believe. CA Louisville is probably only slightly wounded. Yet another cruiser force appears to be approaching. Nadi is mine.

Look for a message in the Combat Events or Operations reports. Might have auto-occupied based on the relative strength of nearby units. If so, it might be a sign of just how much advantage the nearby Japanese units have.

Thanks witpqs.

1/16/42 Lousville may have been in decent shape before she was intercepted nearing Noumea. My reports are that she sank.

Not much to report today. Luganville is mine. My reports have been that the Astoria sank, then it unsank, then it sank again. Louisville sank, the Indianapolis sank on the same spot but the Louisville didn't actually sink. My as yet not well trained naval search crews are spotting the enemy everywhere, they'll be reporting the Loch Ness Monster soon. My ground spotters are seeing flying saucers.

Luganville was unoccupied. Some Japanese tourist aboard the SS Mino got lost and ended up there. The locals surrendered to a sailor from the Mino. We will be renaming Espiritu Santo Girrigan's Irand.

1/21/42 I hate it when this happens.

Yesterday a large force of mine was about 1 mile outside the Manila hex at Mauban. The screenshot shows I have possession of the hexside involved. I don't know why that is as I have not had any units cross it yet. Anyway, the next day this force magically appears at Batangas, still with the order to go to Manila, but only having travelled two miles so far. I'm not going to wait for them, the first assault will occur tomorrow.
