Leaving work at lunch today for a long weekend in Jacksonville, Fl. A good friend who I was enlisted with finished his degree and was commissioned the same year I got out, in 1997. From an ensign back then, he has recently been promoted to Commander and will soon take command of his own P-3 squadron. Not bad for an old avionics technician.

Anyway, his wife is throwing a big party to celebrate his recent promotion and 4 of us who worked with him when he was still enlisted are going to show up and surprise him. Things may get a little out of hand.

Anyway, have a great weekend, Brothers!

From a TRON to crew. Obviously he saw the light. Always happy to hear another Mustang success story. Have a good time. (I do envy you....I seriously miss JAX!).

Good morning. Not a good start to the weekend. 28F. right now, possible one to three inches of snow. And I also lost my voice. Just going to hang around the house all weekend and watch hockey.

Great news, Mike.

On that note, more and more of the people I was in ROTC with in College are either retiring as full birds or getting even bigger jobs in the Army. I remember back in those days thinking those officers were sooo old. Now, I am that age and really don't mentally feel much different than then... Go figure.

Oooh, envy you. Promotion parties are a license to get severely d & d; mustang Commander is a biggie.

Went to High School at the Bolles School, right across the river from Towers (JNAS). Every day the windows would rattle from take-offs. Lovely place. Ponte Vedra Beach !!! Your friend is in paradise.

Stay safe. Don’t get caught. Tell your friend that even Army pukes wish him well.

Ciao. John

I feel your pain - been there, done that

No problems on the delay though - I'm hosting a party tomorrow and have quite enough preparatory work to do anyway
