Hey Guys,

Just wanted to say hello and I look forward to getting back into Modern Warfare simulation genre again. I used to play Harpoon II all the time back in the early 90's. Haven't seen or heard anything lately regarding the series until about 2 weeks ago when someone on the forums of the other simulation game I play (iracing.com) posted CMANO was out and available. Although I haven't downloaded it yet, I look forward to joining the group and play this title on the triple screens! Since I have never played H3 or newer type titles, what is the average learning curve in terms of time to get up and running and know the basics? I have seen some of Baloogan's videos and it really was the deciding factor on getting back into the sim.

How fast do the missiles go now!? Lol
Baloogan's vid on youtube was it for me as well.

A few hours with the tutorials and watching Primarchx's YouTube videos on air ops, (I was baffled before watching that), and you are good to go, (and get killed). And RTFM of course ;)

If you are familiar with Harpoon II, the learning curve will mostly be restricted to learning the GUI and finding the tools you need, which shouldn't take you more than a few hours. The basic concepts of waypoints, reference points and missions are basically identical to Harpoon 2 and 3.

Hi,
Was a keen Harpooner... Looking at the various reviews I think I may just have to raid the piggy bank to get Command: ma/no...
It looks like harpoon 3 on steroids.
Cant wait to get my hands on it as soon as funds are available.

I like the videos as well, I was raised in Germany and I love the Opera Music! Sets a great mood for war! B-2's and Wagner! What a combo!

I'm just overjoyed that there are developers and publishers making games in this genre. Naval combat simulation videogames are niche that I want to grow!

I'm really hoping WarfareSims is going to be the next 1980s MicroProse; making great sim after great sim! It originally was F-117A Stealth Fighter, Gunship 2000, Silent Service, F-15 Strike Eagle and Red Storm Rising which first made me interested in simulations; then I tried Harpoon 3 and I was hooked for life.

I play a whole bunch of videogames; Command really stands out from the pack in so many different ways! For example Command kept me up till 4 am this morning researching theoretical soviet 1955 CVBG compositions. A whole pile of these guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_Tu-91 is what I came up with!

One entire era that has been really ignored by simulations is 1950s naval combat; its such an interesting era! Early electronic warfare, early shipboard SAM on American ships, early shipboard ASM on Soviet ships, soviets have the SA-2, ship vs ship battles will sometimes come down to guns and torpedoes! The first nuclear submarines! Subs still have deck guns; and for the most part transit on the surface. Aircraft radars are poor and have short range; combat is less about hiding and more about power concentration. Also air combat isn't "2 F-22s vs 3 JF-17," its "40+ aircraft in a huge furball!". Cruise missiles do not rule the day. Plus early AAM are introduced! Another neat thing is that combat during the night vs the day is very different!

Edit: does anyone know of a 1950-1958 carrier capable soviet fighter? Tu-91 isn't really a fighter.

I probably had 100 hours each into Gunship 2000 and RSR, great games. edit: err 500 hours

Thanks for the videos Baloogan, I'll manage to get some friends/family to pick up CMANO just because I make them watch your great work.

Those JF-17s certainly don't like you and what can I say about lieutenant dumb eh.

Microprose what a great company I had most of there games I have one on my pc b17 mighty eighth.


You have been selling the game well just watching your last batch. Keep it up.
