First two videos uploaded! I think I might get some sleep 7 hour stream is a new record!

Part 1 Custom Overlay Tutorial
Welcome back to Baloogan Campaign! Episode 7 focuses on creating and importing custom overlays for Command as well as what a Carrier Battle Group in 2025 might look like!

Part 2 The Airbase in Britain
I work on Custom Overlays for RAF Fairford! I overlay an overlay on top of an overlay, it gets confusing from here on in!

Watching now!

I heard my name yay

I'll go record my advanced tutorial next :)

I personally tried the Klamath falls base at zoom 17 and didnt have any problems with that though? That size still works ok for me. Not sure if its computer/RAM dependent?

Finished uploading another:

Part 3 Operation Lightning Strike
I return to Operation Lightning Strike and discuss creating a custom overlay for Bin Laden's compound.

Plus I think I might break one of my rules: I'm going to install the beta 452 patch! I usually keep to public patches but Unlimited aircraft ordinance fixxed AND the following?
quote:

* Significant improvements on the "Speed / Altitude" window (F2): Altitude presets for aircraft, similar to existing submarine depth presets, and ability to input precisely the desired speed & altitude/depth with arithmetic values in addition to the slider bars.

* Fixed performance slowdown when numerous sonobuoys or datalinked weapons are present.

* Aircraft dropping sonobuoys are now constrained by the channel capacity of their sonobuoy datalinks. In most cases this means they will drop fewer sonobuoys per "string". To compensate for this, the default minimum spacing between successive sonobuoys has been doubled.

Can't keep me away

Basically whenever anyone had an advanced question about overlays I directed them your way! Thanks so much for getting all that info ready for me yesterday and the day before yesterday! (You saved the stream )

During my pre-stream testing I couldn't get it to show up. I have 4 gigs of ram, and I usually test with about 1gig of ram available for Command.

In any case showing of how the overlays are 'georeferenced' and will fit right on top of each other was a useful exercise.

Also another thing about custom overlays, I had NO CLUE they were this cool and this easy! I'm just playing what I usually play, I just spawned Daegu Airfield in South Korea and placed an overlay of it right on top. Looks just like it does in Falcon 4.0

One ... bit about the overlays I've been discovering is when I drop clusterbombs on airfields; or nuke airfields; it really forces you to see the number of civilian casualties a modern war would bring.

Tutorial is done, just doing some encoding madness then uploading. Probably another hour or so?

Meanwhile I found that I can get the Google satellite imagery working by downloading the latest 1.70 beta of GMap. You can find it here:

only thing is google inserts their tiny little copyright thing everywhere so thats kindda lame

But it's useful where Bingmaps has nothing or is crappy. And if you do it right you probably wont notice the things too much anyway.

The beta I got is here:

Baloogan!

Loved your last broadcast! (but I couldn't make it to
the end)

I've sent a beta version Carrier Strike Group Import
file to your gmail account. Try it out and email me
back with your comments.

Hope you like it.

It looks really awesome emailed you with a few comments.

I'm thinking over the next few months of developing an ImportExport groups library; composed entirely of community submitted ImportExport files.

Episode 7 Uploaded

Part 1 Custom Overlay Tutorial
Welcome back to Baloogan Campaign! Episode 7 focuses on creating and importing custom overlays for Command as well as what a Carrier Battle Group in 2025 might look like!
Part 2 The Airbase in Britian
I work on Custom Overlays for RAF Fairford! I overlay an overlay on top of an overlay, it gets confusing from here on in!
Part 3 Operation Lightning Strike
I return to Operation Lightning Strike and discuss creating a custom overlay for Bin Laden's compound.
Part 4 The Chase
Air battles continue! A P-3 Orion is chased out to sea; a pair of F-22 Raptors are tasked to clear the P-3's six. They supercruise and fire BVR!
Part 5 Raptors to the Rescue
My F-22 Raptors reach the P-3 Orion and fire AMRAAM BVR down the axis of the detected bogey!
Part 6 Capt. James Kirk of the Zumwalt
I start a new scenario with a 2025 USN CVBG vs Brazil Land Based Air. James Kirk commanding the DDG-1000 Zumwalt!
Part 7 Brazil Air Defense
I compose the Brazilian land based air defense. I guess as to who Brazil would buy aircraft and weapons from. I decided on French aircraft and Russian SAM.
Part 8 Magazine vs Mount vs Magazine
I look at the difference between Weapons and Mounts and Magazines; as well as bring in custom overlays for the Brazilian airbases.
Part 9 Exocet Counterstrike
I prepare the Brazilian Air Force to respond to any detected surface contact with a Exocet Strike.
Part 10 Brazilian BARCAP
I set up Brazil's defenses; they will respond automatically to any air contacts or surface contacts. Air contacts will get all the currently airborne aircraft to converge on the contact and surface contacts will make the Exocet armed aircraft to sortie.
Part 11 Phased Array
I take a look at all the cool sensors in a Modern American Carrier Battlegroup! Including Phased Array radars that can be electronically steered!
Part 12 Convergence Zones
I discuss physical oceanography as it pertains to modern naval combat!
Part 13 ICBMs, Espionage, and TOGO!
I spawn Minot AFB complete with a good chunk of our Nuclear Deterrent! I also create overlays for a random airbase in Africa and discuss how Command might be breaking the law!
Part 14 Land Combat and the Ballistic Missiles!
I spawn a small land combat simulation, a company of T-72s vs a platoon of Abrams! Also I track a ballistic missile as it flies into Canada!
Part 15 The AMRAAM Datalink
I fire AMRAAMs from my F-35s at the hostile bogies! I discuss datalinks and how they are modeled in Command.
Part 16 Tactical Tomahawks!
I end off Episode 7 with a Tomahawk strike on Brazilian ammo bunker installations! And the difference between the Blk III and Blk IV Tomahawk. Hint: The Blk IV Tactical Tomahawk is worth the extra $$$ :).

There should be a public release soon; I was hoping for one today! I want to show off whats new in this beta patch. Episode 1-7 were with publicly available patches, I kinda want to experiment with using a closed beta release.

I've never done anything like a internet TV show before so I'm experimenting! I'm trying to see what is best.

Hey blighty! I'll be getting the show up on youtube as fast as possible. Right after a bit of a break.

I know the feeling of wanting to stay in bed. I heard the UK was in for quite a bit of weather!

Yeah it really is alot of fun with the chat and everyone on there! I think it was around Episode 5 where I started embedding the chat into the Youtube videos because I realized that about half the fun I was having was just chatting with everyone. (The other half was playing command )

I've been to Morton's once for a friend's birthday a few years ago on the waterfront downtown. Great steak but the prices !

First part uploaded:

Episode 8 Part 1 1950s Strategic Nuclear Warfare
I start off the episode by setting up the the American radars in northern Canada and Greenland and then prepare some Soviet aircraft to nuke them!

Going to sleep before uploading more; I'm always amazed how long it takes my computer to encode video sometimes.
