First off...what a game! Its amazing on many levels; however, I think im missing something regarding supply. I checked the rules and bet I missed something simple.
The scenario is "global war" with all supply rules except oil. Poland was taken and the flags show its now in the hands of Germany all the way up to the USSR border.
My question is why are the two units in Lvov and Vilna not in supply?
I traced the nearest supply source/route to Warsaw....but wouldn't those two former polish cities also be supply sources? Maybe they are not active supply sources until Russian/Germany go at it?
I know I missed something simple so please don't slam me (im watching the Texans lose so im not focused, just tearful) but for some reason this question is nagging me.
thanks....

In fine weather a unit must be four hexes from a supply source or secondary supply source or from sea supply. Closest secondary supply source for those units are Warsaw hence the units are out of supply (OOS).

I knew that rule about hex distances but didn't know about only Warsaw being a supply source after Poland was conquered. I thought the other two cities would be supply points but I found the rule which states its not the case.
This is one of those cases where the proper rule was not located!
thanks

Try F8. That will bring up the Supply Sources and Paths form. You can check out Germany's primary and secondary (maybe some tertiary) supply sources.

You need a supply source! Out of HC this is either a controlled (conquered/aligned) minor capitol or (more likely) an in-supply HQ you can cooperate with.

Rule of thumb: expeditionary forces are lost w/o an HQ and secure supply lines.

I've spent some time with this form/tutorial. Is there anyway to check the path from an actual front line unit directly versus just a HQ or city source? Seems you only get a "path" when clicking on a HQ or some type of supply source versus actual front line unit. Can't figure it out anyway.

- If you place the cursor over a unit, its supply source is shown in the bottom line of the Unit Data panel (e.g., the one in the Main form).
- Then use F8 to bring up the Supply form and find the supply source listed for the unit's major power.
- The unit should appear in the list at the bottom of supplied units by the supply source.
- Click on the unit in that list and the path from the unit to the supply source will appear in the Path portion of the form.
- Click on an entry in the path, and the insert map will center on the hex/sea area.
