Thank you Lions! $$$

Did take the Cowboys in the pick-em leagues, but didn't put any real money on them.

Looks like comet ISON could not take 5,000 F. What a wimp!

Second video loop on this page shows it best.

An "expert" talking head in this country has said that the Danes are ready to adopt Thanksgiving, because Halloween and Valentine's Day are now a thing here.

I can't decide if I should shoot her or myself first.

Hey, Big D won, didn't they? But for the meaningless Janikowski FG with 0:45 seconds left, they'da covered your point spread too. Complain to the Raiders for blowing the line.

No. Thanksgiving is part of your history (both pre-US and Civil War), no other country should do it. It's bad enough that we "celebrate" artificial holidays like Valentine's Day.

Won 2 out of 3 yesterday, including my money game. So, I'm thankful.

A look at the leagues shows that there would be seven tie a 6 &7 if it ended now in the pro-league. Hopfully we do better Sunday.

In the Basic league, if USS America Tsunami can pull offf an upset win, I could get a first round bye with a win.

Oh, ye of little faith. Thanksgiving is when all the turkey farmers (and goose and duck farmers) make their money. And when the kitchen appliance folks introduce their newest “if you are a yuppie, you simply have to have this” devices. Thanksgiving is capitalism at work. It begins with Jonathon Edwards and ends up with Ron Popiel.

I just got a cool fowl roaster thing from Cuisinart (the French are always willing to sell stuff to the silly Americans). It’s a pointy rack that you stick up a bird’s butt and stand the whole thing up in the oven (lower the oven racks to the bottom). Drippings go down nicely, and the skin gets crisped all-around. I like it. It’s a ‘technical’ improvement that floats my boat.

Hootz gazootz. JWE

Are they a thing? Or an official Thing with a capital T? It makes a difference. At least we in the UK are taking the sensible approach and taking the good parts of Thanksgiving whilst discarding the pointless chaff. Which is why we ignore our families like usual but gladly partake of Black Friday for some reason. Except on Amazon, where it's a week long festival of stuff you don't want* discounted so everyone 'saves' money by buying stuff they wouldn't usually get.

*Except a Monty Python DVD box-set. I wanted that.

P.S. Where has the text wrap gone? One long line of text is a pain in the buttocks.

For you lot , it's about a day off to drink beer and watch soccer/football , eat and be thankful that you got rid of those damned colonials in America.

On a Friday? It's a shame that no-one told the boss about that. To be honest, we didn't really get rid of you, like many kids you moved out but still turn up on regular occasions.

YAY! Black Friday is over. I was all over the place with the wife today. SHHH, don't tell her, but I picked up a total of twenty new movies along the way. I like Black friday, but don't tell her that either.
