There is NO way that is pure luck.

You weren't, by chance, born in 1955, were you?

I think you are confusing me with my Uncle Cletus. Besides the B-58 first flew in '56

cool stuff.

Russian guy firing a 40 mm. Watch when he fires on auto. The 2nd through the last shot do NOT land on the other side of the lake. I don't know WHERE they landed. Probably Omsk.

A Hard was a place ships could be dragged up onto the foreshore and leaned over to have their bottoms cleaned. It's called Priddy's Hard because Jane Priddy had a boatyard there before it was bought by the government in the 18th century.

I'll be damned. That actually makes sense. I thought it more likely it was same Gaelic left-over.

By ra way, I started Hermes back to Colombo with a DD and some TBF's aboard for ASW duty. Pennslyvania will not go to "ready" status. I think it's all the system damage...or maybe union work rules.

Quite amazing that is virtually all declassified. The only thing I saw blacked out was the distance from the target after the attack when he was clearing datum (presumably because you could deduce her top quiet speed).

It seems completely one sided. Sprinting right under the Argie group at 21 kts to get ahead. Following at 4-14K yds for a whole day. Innumerable periscope looks.

The "fun" starts at about page 135.

OMG I've been shocked by content in this AAR (?) for the first time.

ALSP posts a picture of a sign saying "Priddy's Hard" and next post is a picture of a giant phallic symbol

And then says it belonged to Jane

There is this. As I recall, the first Viking raid in England was pretty close to ALSP's new digs. Maybe we should chip in and get him a broadsword.

There is this too. What is the earliest anyone achieved a skip-bombing success (let's define that as multiple hits in one attack*)?

New neighbors put up this big wooden thing by the driveway. It actually went past the $10K mailbox onto my property.

I went over to complain but stopped when I realized it was a Christmas manger display.

At least your neighbors went with natural materials. My neighbors are apparently having a contest to see who can display the largest and most obnoxious inflatable Christmas decorations. I'm tempted to go Grinch on them with my KA-BAR.

Why the clarification? - have you managed in game to skip bomb attack one of your own taskforces?

go on, spin us a good dit on this one...

Hmm....one time Yossarian skip-bombed the offices of a Homeowners Association somewhere in the Lesser Sundas. I think it was Aru Island. That would be the closest to a "friendly fire" skip-bombing attack. I am pretty sure that was WWII(b). Can't find that but one time his squadron did try to skip bomb a WJD cruiser force.

According to Sigmund, everything is about sex.

And speaking of Jane Goodall and Apes. ( or should that be apes, I can never remember)

I don't want to think about the sexual deviances that people with large Christmas decorations are compensating for. Inflatable snowmen and Santas are frightening enough, but I would be checking the list of registered sex offenders if my neighbor erected an unusually large creche, especially if it had lifelike animals.

So I task SG with orders to get some new flooring in the dining room and living room.

SG: I hired an interior decorator for the dining room

FAM: Interior decorator? <rising voice showing alarm>

SG: Yes, she's a friend.

FAM: Where did you meet her?

SG: <no answer>

FAM: Oh, Tapas, right? <it's one of those places you go to get beer and food>

SG: Yes, but she's nice. She said she wouldn't charge us.

FAM: <electrical shock runs through body>

Later on the surprisingly attractive "interior decorator" shows up in a high maintenance get-up with knee-high leather boots and a $90,000 Mercedes coupe. That alone makes me nervous.

There is also the possibility of demonstrating revolt against progressives

My practice makes it much easier to compensate for these events .. I just pull a couple of more shifts ... I assume this requires a few more office visits ..

*****05:20, June 7, 1943(c), Northwest Veranda, Palace of the Sultan, Brunei****

Sultan: <a large explosion lights up the harbor> OHHHHHHH! SPLENDID! <begins clapping as does the court, many of who are in their PJ's>

Minister, where is my oil minister?

Swarthy, unctious fellow with gay-looking beard, well, you know, trimmed too carefully: Yes, your Majesty?

Sultan: Oh, I just wanted to make sure we got paid first, right?
