27 Feb 15 Latest now below. Scenario has been undergoing testing on the closed side for some time but now should be pretty much done. So before I submit it to the community pack one last public round of testing. All feedback and criticism etc is welcome! So not just bugs but also if you enjoyed it, suggestions etc. Also I'd like to see expenditure and score logs if you could post them. Thanks! Here's the description: Frisian Flag Date/Time: 25th April 2012 / 11:00:00 Zulu Location: North Western Europe Playable Sides: Blue Designer: Tomcat84 Introduction Frisian Flag is an annual multinational exercise hosted by the Royal Netherlands Air Force at Leeuwarden AFB. It focuses primarily on fighter aircraft working together in COMAO packages. Over the years it has seen a variety of participants from various countries, leading to an interesting mix of airplanes. Two missions are flown each day for two weeks, with various assignments, such as Defensive Counter Air, Air Interdiction, Escort, Dynamic Targeting, combinations of the above and more. This scenario puts you in charge of an afternoon Blue package with AI and DT tasking in the second week of the exercise, and it is up to you to make it work. To give you an idea of the scope, airplanes scheduled to fly out of Leeuwarden today are as follows: Blue Air: • Byte Flight - Royal Air Force Typhoons x 4 - SEAD tasking • Shock Flight - German Air Force Typhoons x 4 - OCA tasking • Stingray Flight - Finland Air Force F-18s x 4 - OCA tasking • Archer/Killer Flights - Dutch F-16s x 8 - AI tasking • Norman Flight - Norwegian F-16s x 4 - AI tasking • Hunter Flight - Swedish Gripens x 4 - DT tasking • King Flight - Polish F-16s x 4 - AI tasking • Grim Flight - USAFE F-15s x 4 - OCA tasking Red Air: • Ivan Flight - Dutch F-16s x 4 • Dalton Flight - Belgian F-16s x 4 • Poker Flight - Swedish Gripens x 2 • Skimmer Flight - Norwegian F-16s x 4 • Player Flight - Norwegian DA-20 Jammer These aircraft will replicate certain threat types, as will be discussed in the Blue brief. Red Air will be able to regenerate several times in order to provide proper opposition. You will not have to worry about managing that part though, Ivan 1 has it under control :) Scenario Designer's notes I hope you enjoy this scenario. Some advice to give you the optimum experience: Overlays should now load automatically (Feb 2015 update) - You can load six included custom overlays to make the playing area and in particular your target areas come alive a bit more. I recommend you put the files in the folder Command Modern Air Naval Operations\Overlay\Frisian Flag\ and load them from there. The filenames start with numbers and they should be loaded in order. This is because the more detailed target areas need to be on top of the less detailed larger area ones. So 1-Coastline.png, 2-NE-Coast.png, 3-Cuxhaven.png, 4-Flensburg.png, 5-Helgoland.png and 6-Busum.png - Additionally I recommend that you turn off the "Scenario Events" notifications in the Game Options -> Message log menu. Otherwise you will see when certain events are fired and it will give you unrealistic SA about who is scrambling etc. - However, be sure to turn on "Special Messages" as this will help with any DT tasking. - Enemy proficiency is set to "novice" to generate slightly more realistic missile PH. When future software updates change the way PH%s are calculated this may change. Blue proficiency was set to Novice initially as well for the same reason but with addition of proficiency affecting OODA loop has been adjusted to Regular. If you want more of a challenge you can manually change the Proficiency levels in the Sceneditor. - Make sure you check your side doctrine/EMCON at start to see if it is to your liking. For example I play with Manual Evasion set to no, so that is how this scenario starts. Feel free to adjust as needed. - I recommend you turn off "RTB when winchester" doctrine and also do not just order units to RTB in the middle of the fighting area but guide them most of the way home first. Otherwise they may get themselves stuck on the inaccessible German airspace. Of course feel free to do as you wish, same goes for the intended airspace restrictions (which you will read in the briefing), I cannot force you to follow them, only present them as an intended bit of realism. Have fun and please let me know what you think in the Matrixgames Command forums where you can find me under the name Tomcat84. Also, an internet connection is useful in order to get all the images in the briefing. (and the atmospheric ones like below :) ) Have fun and let me know what you think! 27 Feb 15 Latest version now up, see my reply of feb 27 below for details. File can be downloaded here.
