Hello Halsy,
I have a question,
How can I use the folder like AlliedPlanes42-46?

Download Regs Cathartes Rotating Plane Art from my Google site, and unzip the folders into the game Art folder.
You also need the planeside and top replacement files.
That's it...

So, you mean that puting these folders into art folder, and then it will be automaticlly displayed in game in proper time?

Yes...

The game code recognizes the folder date and overwrites the starting bitmap.

I made a psd photoshop file full of small 250 x 290 images with sepia effect and bleached edge effects. I use them for new and modded scenario art. Easy to import photos from web resize and add effects. Then save as BMPs and drop in your ART folder to use in game for new scenarios you make..

There are over 40 authentic photos which fit various scenarios, they are named according to event.

I use most of them to replace originals, I uploaded them here for anyone who wants the template to make their own or use those included for scenarios.

These are some cleaned up Japanese AGP's.

More cleanups to follow.
I'll do a few at a time, to be released seperately.
Then I'll compile them into the total package to update it.

Overwrite the ones downloaded from my site.

These are the IJN CV AGP's by date.

They are included in the master zip on my site, but the green have to be renamed to appear properly.
In these zips, the names do not have to be renamed.
Unzip and overwrite the master at the dates recommended.

The Grey backgrounds are used till 7/42.
The Green backgrounds from 8/42 till the end of the war.

Grey CV AGP's...

You are quite welcome.

I'm glad I decided to do this a couple of years ago, as some of the original hosters, and hosting sites are now gone.

This site should be available for new arriving, and returning players for a long time.

I myself have a hard copy on disk of all these downloads should something catastrophic happen.

The IJNAF Grey and Green manual replacements are now on the site, with the recent Japanese AGP cleanups.

Also, the recent colorized Ground Unit replacements are now available there.

So, as of 8 Dec 2012, all previous artworks are now updated on the site.

Updated Cloud Mod

I finally noticed the 3 cloud bitmaps change depending on weather type... I always thought they were random, but apparently not.

I redid a simple cloud mod to depict approx weather conditions in hex.

Extreme Overcast = normal cloud bitmap
Thunderstorms / Severe storms = lightning + cloud bitmap
Moderate / Heavy Rain = rain cloud bitmap...

I feel they are ok, but maybe a bit large and obscure icons beneath, but then so did the originals. See what you think..

They can also be found at my new (and very basic) witp mod site.

Very ingenious. I like this idea, it gives an easier way to discern weather in a hex.

Actually, its not working as I thought. It isn't always correct in the weather depicted. It seems to be correct 90% of the time, but not always, this may be due to fog of war, randomization as it is correct too often to be due to chance. It is only useful during your turn by using F7 key really. The icons that appear during replays are not useful.

Maybe your clouds could be just a bit smaller, but already they are a huge improvement over the default cloud images. Nice touch.

I thought I would try a couple of game borders. I tried to think of something interesting to do with them but didn't want them too detailed or distracting while still being able to accommodate many icons. I thought ship hulls would look quite good with the appropriate WW2-era paint schemes.

Only the plain versions (which I prefer) are up on my site at the moment as I am unsure about adding too much detail to a part of the screen that serves no purpose...

https://sites.google.com/site/jacesstuff/home/other-files/war-in-the-pacific-admiral-s-edition

Though if people would like a weathered version with details etc I could finish these...

The fact that the graphics do not line up with the weather has been noted before. It was never determined whether it was not working or whether it was just a random factor.

However to save you some time I have attached the old WITP clouds which I use in my AE games. It doesn't change from the one graphic but it looks pretty good (but I would say that as I created it for WITP (UV actually)... ).

Hi Guys,

This contains all my art utilities rolled into one application with an overall main menu. I'm posting it here so it can be found.

Sorry it's still a DOS application but it should be easy to use and the documentation should fill in the gaps.

Contains
* Aircraft and Ship Class Rotating Art management and distribution compiling tools.
* Unit Patch duplication Tool
* Rotating Aircraft/Ship Class installed artwork viewing tool
* AGP/LCU/SHP Unit Patch installed artwork viewing tool
* Documentation for the above.
* All under an overall main menu with (hopefully) an intuitive interface.

Examples of the Viewing tool outputs can be seen here

Just unzip and run the attached installer.

Thanks Reg,

I was a latecomer to the changing Art files, they provide a nice refresh to the scenery in the game.

Now if they could rotate monthly it would be even better!

For the plane sides you can, just add new folders with the date and add your new bitmaps.

Nooooo.

That would mean some artistic skill.

I did try some side views but the were all one dimensional.

You LCU patches are excellent as well.
