I need say that is the first time i see someboyd complainig about have more content in a game... if you have extra unit and you can use them in what if scenarios... where is the problem???

And not only what if, you can use HOS to create custom scens to cover 1943, 1944, 1945 and i dont know if game has early vehicles but scens covering 1941 is something bad???

I am interested in the game and follow it with great interest, know that you have tigers if you want use them for me is a great bonus.

PD: somebody can post the list of equipment that has the game???? thanks.

glad it made you happy but nobody is complaining about to much stuff....maybe actualy reading the tread might help

Who wants the exact same history with the exact same result? I would rather have the tools of the time that would of and could have been there to study and play with to see what I can or cannot do.

agreed... that was really not the point....
point is: historical scenarios/historical game so no Tigers or SS...
another place another time no problem... I was not trying to make a big deal of this nor did i care to much..i was just interested why they were in a scenario that was supposed to happen in Stalingrad .
That being said i quit this tread and forum. Thanks for your time and opinions.

It seems to me that people are just looking for something to complain about. Even though the title is "Heroes of Stalingrad", theres also a scenario around Prokhorovka and escaping the Demyansk pocket in 1943. And nothings saying you cant add your own units, undead or otherwise and use the same maps for Berlin in 1945. Or should that be made impossible so that only content during Stalingrad is available?

Yes, 160 Tiger I tanks were in Battle of Stalingrad, all had belong to the 4th

I think what you might be confused with is King Tiger Tanks....I couldn't find anything on those being there.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there were no tigers in Stalingrad. The first batch appeared in the Lennigrad area in late 42, believe with 502nd Heavy Panzer Battalion. Mainstein did have some SS division during the backhand blow in win/spr 43 that had a handful of tigers. Even during Kursk there were only around 100-150 tiger that participated. Those videos (see all the Battlefields and Battlefield IIs) always have stuff out of context. It's just for viewing pleasure, but I wish they had done more research. Just read a few books on Stalingrad or about the tigers and you'll understand what I'm telling you here.

Actually you would need a 90 year old German. Allied soldiers were very prone t reporting any German AFV sighted as a Tiger.

I don't really understand the concern here - the main story is about Stalingrad and then there are a lot of additional hypothetical and what if scenarios some of which are based in the general Eastern Front, not specific to Stalingrad. This is a bonus for the player, not a problem.

Tiger 1 tanks were first used in Sept 1942 near Leningrad.
They were sent to the Don in Dec 1942.
While of course not "in" Stalingrad, they were in the theatre of operations covered by the battle.

If they weren't in the game, I'm sure the reverse thread would be here "Where are the Tigers!?"

Grogs, eh? We spend literally hundreds of hours of our lives building up a store of what really is useless knowledge. We're no more or less intelligent than our peers but we can see their faces adopt a smirk when we start spouting about the availablility of equipment on the Eastern front during WW2. We know they're not impressed by our knowledge. We might as well tell them that we believe in fairies.

Now, a game designer comes along with a wargamed titled 'Heroes of Stalingrad' and there's a Tiger tank in it. Look out! ;)

Agreed, and I think most folks here appreciate the extended scope even if we're not posting about it.

Given that the campaign game puts you in the role of a company commander, the actual campaign is pretty irrelevant.

I'm happy there are Tigers and SS in the game. As soon as i figure out how to use the editor, these extra units will significantly widen the scope of any scenarios i decide to try and create. From the forests of Leningrad, to Stalingrad and the retreat through Ukraine in '43. It's all on the table now!

I just wish some cavalry units were added. I enjoyed the partisan scenarios so much, I'd love to create a campaign for a band of them, facing SS units, and those cavalry brigades that were roaming the hinterlands!

None of these concerns are too grievous. I understand that people don't want ahistorical (sic)units in their campaign, and--with the exception of the totally optional campaign branches--there are none in HoS. There ARE Tigers, but not in the campaign. I hope everyone enjoys the game.

Exactly. I hope they add the other Allies, Japan, more maps; Korea and the Spanish Civil War are both doable as well.

This game has tremendous potential.
