Warhunter's Renamed Land Units Mod

This mod renames all land units except the following. It does not rename Militia, Territorial, Chinese Warlords or HQ's. Also Rep. Spain and Czech, Ukraine units have not been renamed.
Just replace the file "STANDARD UNITS LND" found in C:\Matrix Games\World in Flames\Data\Unit Data with the attatched one.

The mod will not affect an ongoing game. Only new games that begin with this mod will see changes.
I hope you like the mod. If anyone has a question, ask.

Basically it names the corps/armies after prominent corps/army commanders in the war. So, instead of numbered units, you'll have units named Weichs or Reichenau or Bayerlein as Germany, and Kirponos or Golikov, or Sharapov as Russia.

Some may find it unrealistic as none of these units ever had the same commander for long, but it works for me as I find units on the map a lot easier to find with a name than a number. And even the numbered units are a bit of an abstraction. After all, the Barbarossa scenario starts with the DAK in Poland.

I personally would not go with the Land Unit mod as I prefer the unit designations.

Why? In simple terms its a tribute to the men who fought ww2. Any errors omissions and choices are mine. Its not perfect. I do feel its close to the mark in any case.

The counters are renamed to General officers who led units during WW2. If downloaded, you might come across a few that are not generals during ww2. I'll let you discover them.

Try it out 76mm. You might come to like it. You won't hurt my feelings if you don't.

I'm glad you find it worthwhile to play as a mod to the game. Any name you are not happy with, you can always change.

Got it, thanks, it looks good. I'm still learning how to play the game but might try this a bit later.
