Playing the (almost) latest beta (11.23v)

I thought this bug had been squashed, but I just had a static unit retreat last turn yet still remain static (despite having no static devices left.)

Zipped PBEM turn to follow.

And the turn. Thanks (yet again) Michael if you get a minute to look at it.

Interestingly you can also airlife "static" units out....

Yes and even though the interface still lists them as static they can move once they lose the static devices that allowed them to retreat.

This happens quite a bit with Dutch coastal guns.

I have thought of airlifting out the now mobile fragment to a new locale, refitting it and viola I now have a new CD unit at a location my opponent isn't suspecting, but I have not yet actually done so.

Good luck!! Finding Dutch CD guns is not on the cards I fear!

What you can't do is ship them.

TRUE Chris, excepting the equipment that is too large to airlift... which will leave a fragment behind (which can be a good thing as your opponent will not be aware of the fact that the unit has gone with the exception of a truck or two).

I turn 'Yes' the stockpile option for both Allied "Garrison Units" so if they are forced to retreat they don't suck in another static device and end up useless in the middle of nowhere.

True, but the only time I want to air lift a static unit is when its routed and then they will have left the big stuff behind anyway. If there is some big stuff left I'll leave it, better to have the cadre of a unit to rebuild on than purchase it anew, that's if it can be purchased.

Follow-up. My apologies to Michael M. I looked at this unit the next turn, and while it does still say it's static, I do now have the ability to move the unit since all the static devices are gone. Looking back over the beta notes, I believe that's exactly what Michael was trying to achieve with the beta fix, which means that everything is now probably working exactly as designed and that I'm bringing up a problem that has in fact already solved (and that I apparently wasn't bright enough to spot right away...)

On that note, I'll thank Michael (for the 6th or 7th time) for his work on the beta (which is still outstanding for those of you still playing stock) and go quietly back to my PBEM...
