There isn't going to much fancy moves made here for a while. Will keep hammering until something breaks.

The further east the Allies move, the better. Let them have Brussels and Antwerp. For now.

The attack on Brussels will not be made, since the ground strike did not disorganize the INF. There is a chance that the attack could work, but I will not gamble at this point.

After the advance and breakthrough.

The armor units that broke though have 18 strength. It will take the whole of available French army to attack that hex, and at best, they can only get a 3:1 odds I am guessing.

If the French fail to attack and somehow win the hex back, they will have a weak point in their line if they move forward.

Its time for the CW and France to determine what kind of actions they will perform this impulse. If the French decide to attack the armored breakthrough units, a 2:1 ratio is the best they can get. A successful attack will cost the enemy some disruption and maybe a unit lost. The risk of the French losing a unit and having several others disorganized, could be deadly.

The French could move to occupy the empty hexes in order to create one more hex the Germans have to take in order to get to Paris. That would mean the Belgians combine forces in Brussels, and the CW moving into Antwerp, the French occupy the wooded hex. The two strongest German units are in the hexes to the north, and more across the river. The Luftwaffe is reorganized.

With this situation, I'm damned if I do, and I'm damned if I don't. With the German forces in good order, and attack will hasten the end.

Move forward, and hold as long as possible.

France, China, land
CW, USSR, US combined

Cw lands the Indian garrison in Gibralter, and four convoys sail to Liverpool from Rotterdam, joining the rest of the surviving Dutch fleet.

The Nationals to shift forces to the west. The cavelry will stay just far enough into the mountains to stay out of harms way.

The CW get the first land movement in the impulse. The Belgians had INF units in Antwerp and Brussels, preventing the CW from taking their planned position in Antwerp, and had to hold their position. They did not want to advance the one hex, and risk having their movement to the rear restricted by an enemy ZOC if the Germans made a successful attack to the south.

The French despite their infantry builds, are stretched thin on their front. They must now pray that they can make a good showing against the German attacks to come.

The Japanese pick up an INF from Sasebo.
The Italians anticipating their entry into the war soon, move a sub into the western Med.

An overall look at the Mediterrainian front.

WIth increasing numbers of unorganized oil burning units building up, due to saving oil, the Japanese decide to fly a strategic bombing mission, that fails.

They will use up one of their saved units of oil to reorganize all of their units this turn.

Two artillery units bobmard Belgium disorganizing the 5-3 INF.

The Stuka attack disorganizes both French units.

This is not good for the French.

The Japanese limited by their combined action move two ART, a 6-3 INF and Yamamoto toward Changsa.

TH last two games that made it this far, the Luftwaffe performed poorly. The successful groundstrikes this game have helped to pry open the French lines. In those games, the French and Belgian air forces erformed well enough to abort many German strikes, without causing or taking any losses. This game is very different.

By limiting the number of land attacks, and concentrating the most firepower where needed, both the Japaneses and Germans have gained a considerable amount of territory, with no losses.

At some point their luck will run out.

I really screwed up advancing the units. I had intended to not advance due to the supply range, but forgot and did it anyway. This is a shot of the Western front at the begining of the Allied impulse.

The French chomping at the bit to attack two prime out of supply units, are dismayed that the weather will help the Germans with a die roll modifier, and the possiblity that not enough units will be able to counterattack.

After spending too much time playing, when I should have been in bed, I realize once again, that this is a game where "one more impulse", can be detrimental for your campaign.

Today is a new day, my obligations and chores are finished, and its time for some more MWIF.

Since nobody took the bait in my WIF random die roll yesterday, I will explain the rule.

There is no section in RAC numbered whatever it was I called it. WIF, is my own Wife Is Furious, and the random event is that if you don't do whatever the wife is asking you to do by saying I'll be there after I finish this move or attack... The wife WILL be furious. A little humor. I can't resist. Its part of the RAC of being married.

On with the game.

The CW sends a sub from ALexandria into the Eastern Med, and two CLs into the western Med, with in preparation for war with Italy.

The CW can move the BEF which is now out of supply.

Since the French will counterattack this turn, they are hoping that the German infantry will be eliminated, since they are out of supply, and correct the situation.

The French have moved, and assigned their sttacking units.

When hovering the curser over the German units that are being attacked, it shows that the odds are 30:17. I am hoping that this is because the program only considers the face value of the German units, and not the fact that they are out of supply. If the attack when rolled is made with these odds, I will reload movement pahse as I would never make such an attack, and the CW and French moves were made under my original assumption.

The defending factors were not what I thought they would be.

After reading the supply RAC again and observing the board, another lesson has been learned.

After moving the French units to attack, their presence put the CW back in supply.

Elite units unless they are disorganized, and out of supply defend at normal strength. That explains it.

I learned something new again. Because of my statement in the last post about not making the attack in this situation, the movements will be redone for said reasons.

Here is a shot of the attack before it was rolled.

I must have made some move and put the unit back, because after the reload, the BEF is in supply. Must be one of the lingering supply issues that needs to be patched. This does not make any difference to what my plans would have been if they were still out of supply.

The Germans have put a hole in the French lines.

The Belgians were resiliant in their defense of Brussels, costing them an engineer and an infantry corps, while disorganizing the majority of their units. They really did their job.

Unfortunatly, this will only slow them down untill the nex turn.

The French will have to pull back from the Maginot line, and perhaps bring the units north from the border of Italy. Will have to see what can be done with the forces at hand first.
