Two scenarios for this mod: The Defense of Klappebruck (designed by Mark Walker!) Move it! Each is designed to play as the USSR side. These are scenarios (ie .map files) that are based on custom (mod) content. Must have version 1.09. 1. Unzip and place all of the files in "Matrix Games\Lock n Load Heroes of Stalingrad\usgp Heroes of the Gap." You will have to create the "usgp Heroes of the Gap" folder. 2. With a text editor open modules.dat from “C:\Matrix Games\Lock n Load Heroes of Stalingrad.” Add "usgp Heroes of the Gap" to the bottom of the list on its own line. Make sure there is a blank paragraph after it. It might look like this [stuff in brackets a note and not actual text]: # modules.dat # # special country mode: DE = germany, cut out some stuff mode:US # # Directories to load .csv files and scenarios from: # Custom Stalingrad usgp Heroes of the Gap [extra blank line here] Though you can have multiple lines of custom folder names (each on its own line), you should probably modify modules.dat so the only custom folder in it is the mod’s folder name before each time you play a scenario from a different mod. It reads from the last one. Troubleshooting: I'm getting funky units, nations, etc.. One of two things is wrong: 1. You have old 1.08 .csvs in "Matrix Games\Lock n Load Heroes of Stalingrad\Custom." Back up everything there and remove it. 2. You have multiple custom mod folders and they are clashing. Make sure modules.dat has the correct folder name for the mod you want to play. Remove all others custom folder names you added to modules.dat. Before you play a scenario for a mod, make sure modules.dat has only that mod's folder name in it. Then change it again before you play a scenario based on a different mod. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Notes: Air support values: SU-25: 1 bomb with 8 penetration, 2 hexes with 6 penetration strafe A-10: 1 bomb with 8 penetration, 4 hexes with 6 penetration strafe F-4: 1 bomb with 10 penetration, 2 hexes with 1 penetration strafe Mi24: 1 “bomb” (simulates ATGM) with 4 penetration, 2 hexes with 4 penetration strafe AH1: 1 “bomb” (simulates ATGM) with 5 penetration, 2 hexes with 4 penetration strafe Note the PKM has the same issue that the MG42 has in the regular game. Meaning the toggled side does not change range no matter what you place in the .csv. But it's ineffective unless flipped to it's prepared side. A note about turret facing. I did not do a moving turret image but the turret facing works. There is a red dot that shows actual turret facing. Obviously helos just don't work as on-map units. I did them as air support. Matrix, I'll be first in line for a professional HotG module! One thing I just can't work out perfectly is units with a split ord chart. These are units like the M2 and BMP2 with ATGMs and a good cannon. I decided to give them the ATGM stats. I made their cannons into "super" MGs. What this means is that their cannons are not effective on armor as they should be. That's a shame because I love the versatility and tactics these units add, but I can't figure another way around it. Let me know if you have ideas. They are still pretty effective and fun and the ATGMs are deadly and endless. There are ATGMs but no ATGM depletion so fire away. ATGM minimum range is tricky. I worked the stats so firing at minimum range in nearly worthless but you can still do it so look at the unit's stats before wasting a shot. If it says "-50" for the range you are trying you will almost never hit. Bottom line firing at close range with ATGMs is a bad idea.
