Remember your impression of the Italian colour? "Sickly" I believe your said. Well that would suit the Chinese army much better, and you have managed to find the appropriate yellow colour! So in short: it is much better than the fresh, happy-go-lucky flower yellow they originally have. Although for the morale of the Chinese player it might be better to stick with the original.

The new Jap colour is more subdued than the original. As if they have already been fading away in the backwaters of Chinese hinterland, kicking back hordes of sickly looking Chinese corpses hex after hex, not seeing the end of it, plagued by supply problems.

So I think your colours are adding a more realistic flavour, which impresses me. I will have to betatest this to see how that works out for me.

Next nations of the chopping block are Germany (Hunter Green), USSR (Brown), Italy (Azurri), and France (still thinking). been working on some examples but not yet finalized.

Japan Yellow is not gonna happen. It just did not pan out for me. Someone else will have better luck i'm sure.

France. Historically, the French should be white...

Gold on royal blue could also be nice - although than the Dutch need a different colour (we would look too much french with white on royal blue). Dutch could be Orange?

I remember that in earlier versions Orange was used for some non-specifc counters representing neutral minors? Or is that a different game I remember?

You have all been busy i see. so have i

Here are Portugal and Netherlands.

If they pass the taste test. I'll add them and Spain, to USA, Japan and China Mod. Which should be finished tomorrow.

Then you can all tell me how that Lend Lease stripe is annoying.

Do these colors fit the bill?

WarHunter - sorry, just to be clear, I assume we can download the countries individually i.e. if we want some changes but not all can we do so, as opposed to all being on one mod file? Thanks.

BTW I keep looking at those Dutch counters - they are soooo good. I actually feel inspired to do some more write-ups!

...and I feel inspired to play the game even more - first khaki Brits, now the Dutch go orange!

I had no problems installing the Brit mod and, like Warspite, it would be good to know if these can be downloaded without affecting the other settings.

Thanks for this.

What i plan to do is put Spain, Portugal and Netherlands out as a package mod to be used with Kif. I don't expect many players will want to change the Major powers colors that i'm working towards.

My thinking is if someone is going to use the mod, they probably downloaded Kif already. Otherwise i have to create multipule combinations for all known contingencies.
Its a better use of my time to just wait for a specific combination to be asked for.

Kif with Spain (page 13, 21, 22 Supplemental nations)
Kif with Portugal (Page 20, 22 Minor nations)
Kif with Netherlands (Page 9, 19, 21, 22 Minor nations)
Kif with Spain & Portugal (see above)
Kif with Spain & Netherlands (see above)
Kif with Portugal & Netherlands (see above)

Kif with Spain, Portugal & Netherlands (see above)This is the one to be for download tomorrow.

Eventually after the Major power nations are done i'll visit the minor nations not yet recolored. Poland, Yugoslavia, Greece and all the axis minors top the list.

So long term i should have a Major Powers mod. Minor nations mod. Major and minor nation mod. All compatible with Kif. If someone wants a specific combination of nations. I can work with that person one on one.

Here's a look at what is included for Spain, Portugal and Netherlands.

Warspite1,

Its unfortunate but the ability to pick and choose what nations you want can not be done. We would have to work with each other and find out what you want and dont want. Everything is on 22 bitmaps and 3 files really. What you want to see on the screen is based on just that. They are the core.

Currently i have the game installed 6 times just so i can play and mod without making a mistake and screwing things up so i have to start over.

Install 1 Clean no changes no mods virgin
Install 2 Every mod i can find and more back up for Renaming air and land mod found here
Install 3 Khaki in Flames
Install 4 Khaki in Flames Major powers recolor mod
Install 5 Khaki in Flames Minor nations recolor
Install 6 The messy desk, make all mistakes here, try out things also renaming land and air mod.

Imagine having folders to plug in depending what combinations of nations i want to play modded. Yeah i'm working on that, more of a whisper of an idea than rock solid fact.

Since I am not sold on the Hunter Green for Germany (I dunno, grey is just perfect for them) I am happy you will release the minors + KIF.

I also really like the US, China, and Japan and wouldn't mind all of those included as well.

Like I said, the only one i'm iffy on is the Germany.

After i actually get some time into the European nations. You may find a green German is as effective as a grey one.
Glad to know you and others have expressed a desire to try them out.
Thank you

2 posts for mod downloads now up.

1 for just Spain, Netherlands and Portugal.

Another for USA, Japan, China and the ones above.

Let me know if anything does not look right.

All the colors except for gold were from a chunk of Roquefort Cheese.

Hmm that strong blue for Italy it honestly reminds me of the blue from the French flag and would suit them more. You even have red accents in the Italian NATO symbols. Just seems that is a much better French scheme

For Italy (I am of Italian heritage) I just never thought of blue being an Italian color. Maybe a cream color with green NATO symbol?

As for the soviets my eyes are tired. What color is that?

Switching France and Italy would work better? I can come up with something along those lines.

Italy and France have never had solid color choices for me. Purple was my 1st choice for Italy. But after playing with it for a couple weeks decided to shelf it. I liked the idea of France using Roquefort cheese and think it came out ok.

The USSR is mud. (brown)

Looking up the word Azzurri led me to Azure, which is more of a sky blue. But then Italy has adopted that color for its soccer team since 1910. "The Blues", seem to have quite a following.

Changed up the Italians and French. Also added a screen of Germany.
I'll play with these colors for a week or so and give time for more suggestions before any changes to the aircraft and ships.

Commence firing!

I actually like the Roquefort colour for the French - and the other new "soft cheese" colour for the italians.
The mud for the Ruski's is a bit too much towards the Olive drab of the yankees, I'm afraid. How about the colour of the Norwegian peanut cheese for them? You could than call this chapter " the cheeses".

Really like those choices

Could you show Germany next to USA? How would it look during a battle of the bulge?

Edit: on further review either of your French schemes would work IMO. The both have their good points. REALLY like the Italian cream choice

Do you just use a simple ms paint application to do the planes and ships?
