I got busy and put the game down for a while. Picked it back up and like before I'll say this is a very good game. This forum has been slow since the onset and I don't know why.

This game really blows away most every game in this category. I intend to be around some and post questions. I hope some veteran players are around to help out with some questions.

One of the things that really seems to drum up interest is a good supply of AARs. I'm looking to get back into this game as well.

That's all great since I am going to stay with that for quite some time, both titles so far are almost mind-blowing.

Being a newbie to this great looking game, how would you suggest I start since there are no tutorials that I can see. I am keen to understand what you should be doing as a minimum, more complicated stuff I can figure out for myself I would imagine.

I would start out playing a number of turns as Soviets(case blue). The AI is good at launching the Axis offensive. Just know that the AI wares down its own German troops too fast, but it will give you an idea of how to start out when you play the Axis.

Do not mix artillery and ground combat together. Soften them up with artillery then launch the ground attack. Anything that is dug in higher than 30 i try to soften up with artillery or airstrikes.

Read a number of the AARs. You will glean vast amounts of info. Be sure to select "all".

It never hurts to read a manual. Besides there are short tutorial scenarios in each title.

I am going to get this game. I just hope I can find a ready supply of opponents. I only play PBEM.

Any tips on how to handle the air war as Axis. I need to learn how to better suppress the Soviet fighters they are taking a toll on my bombers. Case Blue long scenario.

Is there a way to cross ta Kerch? What is the movements needed. As now, in a game vs ai, I have the naval assets and enough air power, but the Soviet Navy is still lingering around.

What can be done with the limited naval assets available to the Axis?

The linked scenarios are superb and I really feel it's been a massive missed opportunity that no further DLC's along the same lines of the linked scenario weren't developed\released.

In my effort to work up to a human vs human game, I'm trying to learn important items. One is rivers. When do they freeze and can they be crossed without penalty when this happens?

Okay, when do you know when a river has frozen?
