Stupid question - how do we use these maps? Do we simply replace the original .png file with your file, in the modules\FPRS\Maps folder? What about the accompanying .fp9 file? Doesn't that need to be replaced, too?

Thanks!

yes, that's exactly what you do.

No, these maps are just reskins of the originals so use the same fp9 files.

I'm making headway on Red Storm 10. I'll be glad to see the back of this one, I've never had to do so many redos in one map, plus all the little things I've missed..Any way here's a preview:

Plodder, I too saying dam nice looking maps. I'm unable to play any scenarios. I'm here at Ft Bragg doing a WFX with the 82AB. Too dam tired when getting off work, just able to drink some beer and hitting the sack before starting all over again the next day.

Here's a preview of the latest map I've been working on.This is Red Storm 14, the map for 3rd British scenario Strike First. It's almost finished, I'll have a another look over it tomorrow with fresh eyes and upload it when it's done.

I've made a slightly different approach to this one. I've tried to sculpt the forests to more closely resemble their real world counterparts while keeping them in line with the fp9 data, and I've copied the fields over from google earth at their correct scale.Previously I was zooming in at twice the scale.

These maps with their clearly defined elevations have really improved the game for me. It's so much easier to predict line of sight with these.

I am just very appreciative of the tremendous effort which must have gone into this. I vote to give this man a job and make these the official maps in 2.04 :)

Tide, they go in the assets/Map markers folder. We are adding a new custom folder in 2.04 for map markers. This will help with using mods and also retaining the originals too.
