Surfacing from two solid days of gaming at NashCon. Lots of ASL Red Barricades, big 21 turn scenario and some Command at Sea.

Good Morning!

This is indeed a bad month for people. My brother in law had a major heart attack yesterday evening. In the ICU in Prattville, in a coma, on a respirator with oxygen. Blood pressure still too low to permit any kind of procedure. No prognosis. Does not sound good. He's only 53 years old.

If anyone wants to light a candle or put him on your church's prayer list, his name is Alan Arthur Smith. He's my little sister's husband.

John

Welp, the first amphibious invasion in CENTPAC just left Pearl. Bound for Tarawa, with basically the entire Pacific Fleet in support.

Uh-huh. Take your pills, John.

This is why you could never be a mod in this place. You're too damn volatile, and you take EVERYTHING as a personal attack. Get over yourself.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ONHERE?!?! This is THE THREAD!!!!! This is a place of comradeship and good cheer! JOHN, I'm sorry for your losses and your rough week. BUT.... not every post here is in reponse to another. Kristan hasn't exactly had a bed of roses this week either. Frankly, I'm pretty upset with both of you. Now show us the kind of people we know you both are , good , solid considerate people , and lets hear some apologies. From both of you. Then we WON'T speak of this again.

Sorry to hear that. Hope he makes a swift recovery. Things may seem bleak but people do recover from these positions.

Well, the three day weekend has succesfully confused my body clock into thinking I'm on leave. So I nearly forgot to go to bed and now I'm here I can't sleep. Bugger.

I've been for tests on my weird hand problem, the doc reckons the nerves are working fine so I have a problem with the circulation. Which means shkrt of actually doing some surgery and actually buggering up the nerves there's probably nothing they can do. Still need to get that confirmed by a real doctor though. Of course, it's small fry compared to what some are going through. My Mother managed to dislocate her finger a couple of.weeks ago and it's looking pretty swolen.

And that's small compared to my uncle. Considering he had a heart attack and a cardiad arrest and was put into a coma AND caught pneumonia from having his body temperature reduced AND having broken ribs he's surprisingly chipper. He's walking about and going for surgery later this week to get a device of some sort fitted. He's also on an NHS security list after needing three people to hold him down on his way into hospital as even barely concious he was trying to pull the tubes out of his throat and fight the people stopping him from doing it. He's also had his van stolen from outside his house!

Hopefully John's brother in law will make a similar recovery. But without the security warning and stolen property.

Hope everything turns out well Martin.

... and I'm glad to have a quiet period right now. No illnesses, diseases or other things that I know of among family and/or friends. Have to admit though, after hearing about all the things you guys are going through, that I almost fear calling my 'ol man.
