City put a Cease and Desist order on my house. They say city code demands a concrete pad or walk around "Any structure". Thirty grand & all I got to show for it is a pile of boards. Absolutely no interest that such a code caused the damage in the first place. HOA approved already, designs in by an architect, professionally built, construction itself meets code, and city demands that I add back in the very thing that caused damage in the first place.

Pondering a lawyer, I am....

Or maybe support your local militia?

Hello Tithe! Iam back!

Howya doin', Odin? Long time no see. How's the Kendo training going?

Hey Kendo Training will become a restart this week. Unfortunately, because of too many Business and too much health problems(mainly my discs in the back) i wasn´t able to keep up a steady Training.
Still at 5. Kyu but i hope i will be ready for 4. in december.

Others which began with me are already going for their 2.Kyu:-)

Aside from that, everything ok....

And i have a new car!!!

And you?

In April I tested for and received my Cho Dan (First Degree Black Belt) in Tang Soo Do Karate. I thought of you and your Kendo training this past Spring. Kendo is one of the more traditional and beautiful martial arts out there, IMO.

Other than that, we're selling our house, I've left my job, we're moving to Texas and I'm growing a beard.

Not necessarily in that order.

Forgive me for beeing...somewhat late:-)

Congrats for Cho Dan....thats some Thing i will see....wait...maybe 2024, with that Speed of Training i do now.

Kendo is good..unfortunately, that ugly clothes will make me mad, sooner or later. My HAKAMA is a very terrible Thing. The stuff is always very wrinkled, unlike thick material, and always when you put on the thing you can tie it hardly without wrinkles.

Too bad, Kendo rules have a special eye on clothing so i have do buy me new one.

Not that easy, because there aren´t many dealers for that around here.

And now tell me:

Selling the house, leaving the Job...ok the beard is ok but whats going on?

Better Job in Texas?

Still working by my father, coal mining equipment producer..

If someone needs a sophisticated mining system for Underground, please tell me:-)

Odin:-)

Picked up the kids from their weeklong overnight camp. Packing for it was a laborious and meticulous process-they had exactly the clothing they needed packed up for them.

Unpacking their suitcases and getting ready to launder their clothing yielded the following categories in equal representation:

1. Folded and unworn ()
2. Muddy and disgusting
3. Ugh! Kill it with fire!

No better job in Texas yet. We're moving there to be closer to family. Had enough of the "Minnesota Experience (read: frostbite)" for a time.

Plus, I told my boss to 'get stuffed' when he suggested I reduce my time (read: salary) by 25% due to department budget fiascos.

We'll see what life holds, neh?

Hmp..closer to family is ok, i wish you the best to find a new, good job.

Over here, finding work at full time with acceptable payment is..let my say impossible.

Beyond that with my 14 year old. Had to loan him one of my scout class B shirts to make it through the week...

Otherwise, came home with an extra pair of socks and underwear. Had planned on an extra Class B shirt, but the son took care of that.

Now, the smell from the laundry bags for both of us after spending a week outside in 90F+ temps during the day is a little ripe...

But, I have inserted myself back into society...

In my given line of work, I could have my veritable pick of jobs tomorrow if I wanted them. One has to read the fine print on the offerings though. One requires at least 60% (read: 100%) travel, so I'd never be home with the family. Another requires at least 50% (read: 100%) travel. Another involves relocating to another state yet further away from family. A non-starter.

For my (and my wife / family) "stage" of life right now, with our extended families where they are-it's time to put my career ambitions on hold for the time being.

Once we're situated firmly then I'll sniff around at some part-time or short-term consulting gigs that are geographically feasible.

Awesome photo, Dixie. Thanks for sharing.
Hope you all are having a great weekend.
Got the MacBook fixed two weeks ago, and I'm back up and running WITP.
Extra bonus, I just gave my Great Dane a bath.

Been a nice cool summer. The furnace has been needed since early June. I haven't even run the A/C. My energy bill should be about $45.00. Schtylin'

Leo "Apollo11"

About 1hr 45 on the way there, with two full displays (at Duxford in the picture and at Coningsby). Of that I spent about an hour dozing with my feet in the turret and the rest of me stretched out over the crawl way into the turret I was in the nose for the trip home, 1hr 30 or so, and I spent a good part of that dozing

I got a few more pics from the trip, mostly showing the Spit on formation with different fields in the background. This one has a more interesting backdrop though!

Shame on you Martin - dozing while in flight in vintage Lancaster!

BTW, have you heard about selling tickets for CWHM Lancaster flight over Atlantic?
