What is Sucession game?
The term comes from bearded Civilisation (civfanatics) series community, its done through dedicated forum topic.
Players gather team of 5-7 players, deicide about strategy, race and whole setup, and time lapse of once round.

- One round is game time (in case of DW:U it will be exact amount of game years, in civs it was certain amount of turns) to play for one person.
- Before playing each round team give suggestions about further empire development, imposrtant actions to be done etc.
- player plays his round and makes video of it or report with screenshots about job done, and then uploads the new save, and passes game to next team member in queue.
- Players arranged in queue according to list approved at game setup.

It's better to have players who will be able to play it out and finish it. There is normal time for reaction set to 1-2 days between players. If certain time is passed queues could be skipped in order to advance with the game in cases when played suddenly becomes unaviable.

I am no so great player, but i am learning, and it would be great to play some game with active pro folks here :)

I'm interested. Unfortunately I only have a tiny amount of free time between now and my final mid year exam, which is in 8 days. I've already set that time aside for going over Ice's AI mod, so I'm afraid I can't take part unless the game starts after that point. Hopefully there are other takers.

I think it will take time to setup the game, since we need 5 players to begin with, so i think there is no problem at all and we will start after that point.

So far rooster is:
1. Blackstork
2. Tcby
3.
4.
5.
6. (optional)
7. (optional)

The actual order will be changed upon game setup .
:)

It is an intriguing idea, but compatibility among players and their approaches to the game (as a particular race) would seem a prerequisite, and a set process. Some players are much more detail-oriented than others, and caution vs. boldness vary as well.

The Youtube collaborative game proceeds at a good clip with a year per player, which is entertaining and reminds me of Roman co-consuls struggling for accomplishments within the limits of a one year term, though alternating rather than concurrent rule makes it easier.

Yes, each will and should rule differently, but thats a point of sucession game - its a team game, and players need communicate and to outline some common game directions in order to success. Each player should advise , at least abit, with a team, and hot discussion should commence before each round in such game.

Should i sign you in? :P

Come along Keston. The variations between players only add to the flavour of the thing...I for one would enjoy somebody coming in a throwing a huge spanner in the works.

But please lets not use quameno!

I'm happy to use either race. You seem to have a preference for Paratis, so let's do that. Maybe Haree would be interested in taking one of the spots...:)

Is this just DWU+Extended? That is what I have.

I know that lipids are what I have in my blood, Paratis sounds like a hybrid electric hatchback, and actually I know little of either so should take a look. What about procedures, starting conditions, strategy? For bugs there's the Dalek approach, the Ladybug strategy and everything in between.

Well, both bugs are spying bugs, i think we either way start getting alot of extra tech from neighbours. In case of Lipids there will be more of taxing at max pop and less spying, for Paratis those could be 3 month spy queues for lots of tech if we get lucky for Character trait rolls.
Paratis have special missiles, which fly less but hit harder, which seems like poin blank stuff.
Lipid have med centres allowing early cheap rapid tropp healing, and their hosts are actually strong.
I am nnot familiar with strategy standards, what is lady bug strategy?
Paratis are also able to get alot of maps just not by buying / exploring but stealing some pirate map early in the game.

The Dalek vocabulary of course centers on "Exterminate," while ladybugs have a positive rep because they seem friendly, pretty and harmless yet can exterminate whole colonies (of insects).

Sure, just show us and explain us how to do that, we are team, after all, everyone brings something to table, we think and that glue it to some strategy and tactic.
Both those bugs are fitting to this kind of strategy.

Btw the difficulty? Our start development with ai setting?

I'll play any settings :)
My own preferences are to avoid cheap research and small maps. Expensive research on a 10 or 14 sector map would be ideal. Once again though, I'm not hugely fussed either way.

As for strategy, that's the sort of thing that can wait until a map is generated, because most strategy is about which systems to target, who to annoy, what to sabotage, etc.

Generally speaking paratis will involve a lot of theft and sabotage while we try to maintain a balance between the other warmongering hive minds and civilized empires. Priority #1 will be finding a source of better troops.

If we were to play lipid we would have the luxury of a much higher reproduction rate, coupled with very strong troops and exceptionally fast troop recovery time. AND good espionage. What a package.

Ye, paratis would be very specialised play, while lipid will be more versatile balanced start... for paratis we would not need many explorers, will have alot of stolen tech, and somewhat better mid/close range ship weaponry.
Lipid is better economics (faster growth/happiness) and much stronger troops, while mainaining 1/3 of paratis espionage potential.
KEston, what would you suggest? I am ok with any.... Lets pick something to synergize with mentioned by yourself ladybug strategy.

And Haree78! Join us mate!

Paratis still need lots of explorers, because a)intelligence agents have better things to do than constantly steal maps, and b) we need ships getting to ruins first :)

not that much, i tried to start once game with them, i didnt continued (it was my testing of Paratis Immersion package)
They can early steal huge maps from pirates, see where ruins and send exploresrs there.
Sure they need explorers, but mainly for ruins. They dont need much of them to explore planets/systems. You get map faster than you explore all that place with x5 explorers.
Later they need long range scanners, but i think operation mission will show all movement of enemy, and on some point this could be more useful than lets say stealing tech.

I played one game as the Paratis (before the counter-intelligent patch) and also did not finish it. There was basically nothing left for me to steal (with some 20 empires + 30 pirates). It was so much work scrolling through the list that I gave up. In hind sight, I probably could just automate intelligent ops, and focussed on other things. Then again, I picked them specifically because of the +50 intel, and I wanted to use it. :)

I looked at the race details and goals it looks like the Paratis have too much Intelligence. I like the Lipid profile better - some spying bonus but their goal being to snatch a lot of bodies to feed their growth.

Just a thought - the idea seemed to be a race with intelligence advantages - need 5-7 people so premature to decide, right? Not a bad criterion, but running too many agents with rotating players can be confusing. Should victory conditions be specialized or more general expansion=based? Haree78 hit the random button and got a fun choice - maybe they all are, in their own way. The one good restriction would seem to be not playing a species whose victory conditions are based on something none of the players understands enough to fully explain - e.g., I don't understand the mechanics of resorts in detail so wouldn't want to focus on that as a victory condition.

Ok good point that i need to think about it
I have 3 proposals:
1. Lets pick victory conditions you advise, because i think i understand even less in it... (random or else is fine).
2. We repick race.
3. We wait few (3-4) days till i release fully made, unique, with unique art and ships race Ergreagd as alpha part of big project called Beyond Extended Universe mod (check my sig),. The update will have unique new character system with pre-made ~200 unique portrait characters for that race, and also it have some new unique mechanics (you are welcome to read its info). Its also intelligence based, and victory condition are rather simple to understand (Conquer/Counterspionage/Biggest ground troop) . They have very potent ground forces and intelligence bonuses, and some tricky but powerful character replacement mechanic and 3 governments (their outline also described in info in that thread) - 1 for each royal ancestry house . That could be nice exposure/testing - and if you really like / want this - i will be glad.

I am fine with any of those choices - please tell me what you (you and Tcby, as well as any other joining persons) would like

Also anyone invited to join the train!

Yeah I'm fine with that. Did you manage to get three unique governments working? I was under the impression that there was a max of 1 special government per race.
