Is it possible to change the engine during the game using the editor, or just download the beta again? The tojo has not come on line yet so its not an immediate problem. Thank you for your assistance/ ideas.

No save game editor. The EXE beta does not change any scenario data - it will sometimes correct bad data but generally this is internal data, not player data.

Which scenario #? I has a look at scenario #1 and #2 in the editor, and Ki-44 Tojo in one uses Ha-34 and Ha-35 in the other.

I'm not sure how to attach the file. I re ran Johns last turn and downladed in a different slot. when I opened the file it asked to make changes to the scenario 1 file, if I failed to do that originally that might be the answer to my problem.

That could explain it as that does re-read the current scenario data files and changes the in-game data. You always need to be wary of the consequences of this question especially with a game in progress.
I just uploaded the Jun 28 patch and the 'non full screen' issue showed up again. Is there a way of stickying the mods to the shortcut. I have the resolution in my shortcut, still no dice.
When you get your shortcut the way you want it, rename to WITPAE-BETA or something else. Then when you install new beta, it will not over write your old shortcut. Then delete the newly created beta shortcut.

Quick question and my apologies if this is in the thread somewhere, but how do I edit my shortcut to go fullscreen? I am still using vista........... Any help would be appreciated.

"edit" I played with the shortcut and set it to maximize..............but AE wont open in the screen and stays the same default size. Do I need to add a string to the shortcut?

Hi VonFrag, you need use switches for desktop resolution -px1680 -py1050 (with your used resolution) and switch for full screen -f. Description of all the switches you find in the "WhatsNew.pdf" in main Witp AE folder
That did the trick, thank you for the information.

Feature request: Add a "return to port" button to all task forces. Missing from task forces on patrol. Especially wanted when trying to manage submarines on patrol.
Michael- what might be the consequences if the Japanese enter their orders under an older version of the beta and the allies (in a nameless 2x2) enter their orders in a mixture of the same beta as the japanese and the new beta? Say 1123x4 and 1123x9?

It's my understanding that you'll get a warning, but as long as the Japanese player(s) run the replay under the beta that was used to close out the turn, you'll be fine. The combat replay will follow the "rules"/code that's in the new beta. I think with the incremental changes these days, there's some leeway in the PBEM beta update process. I follow it to the letter when I do my Japan game, but in my Allies games my opponents update before running the movie.
If I understand your scenario correctly, players 1A, 1B, and 2A entered using 1123x4 and player 2B entered using 1123x9. So long as everybody updates to 1123x9 before loading the next turn, you should be OK.
Lokasenna you've got it spot on- players 1A/1B/2A used 1123x4 and 2B used 1123x9. Just to make things exciting player 2A will now finish the turn using 1123x4 and then we'll execute the turn with that version under 1123x4. Should be fine- unless we lose a lot of carriers- then I'm crying foul :)

As far as I can tell, any changes in the .exe should only affect the "math" and engine stuff that happens when you run the turn. None of the interface stuff changed in the most recent betas should matter - it only affects how the players manipulate the data within the turn file, not how the data will run when the turn is loaded up for the combat replay...
Or at least that's how I imagine the code works. Obviously I'm not a dev so I'm speaking from educated guesses only. You'll probably be fine.
Feature request if it hasn't been asked for - ability to manually send planes to maint/repair from the planes screen of the unit. Most of the time they'll go into maint/repair automatically but there's times I've seen planes not go even when the unit is stood down for a few days even though an individual a/c may have high fatigue or some damage on it so this then leads to greater chance of loss of a/c if unit is active.

Standing down (no activity) a group should cause planes to go to maint/repair after awhile from memory. If it isn't, attach a save for to have a look at.

Most do but there seems to be that oddball that won't but I think should that has either a few pts of damage or fatigue in the 50+ range. I'll take a look around my current game for it

Is the Beta cumulative? Just need the latest (1123x9) to patch from the release version?
Thanks....
First install last official patch 1.01.08r9 from February 2012, and after that beta patch. Official patch is required to have scenario database updated.

Whoops! I said it wrong. I updated first to 1.01.08r9 and then patched to 1123x9.
I've got a problem with previous beta of 28th June, I bought out destroyed unit, but it dispersed the day after arrival in its national home base, so it couldn't even fill any squad or equipment.
