Joking aside. I think that Germany is in trouble now. A new year begins and now Germany needs a lot of troops on the Soviet border if USSR decide to place some troops there, which they should. Germany have way to low production for comfort at this point and continue to produce naval assets. Italy still sits out this war. If US had some more progress with the US entry I would almost suspect that they were into the war before Germany was in a position to conquer France. The German position in France makes me believe that it is plenty of turns before France is conquered.

But with that said it can go fast with some high rolling from Germany and a long mild winter.

I felt that it is more important to maximise defensive positions now, than worry about potential situations that may or may not happen in the future.

That seems strange - I cannot place the Belgian convoy in a port containing the Dutch? Why would that be?

Anyways, the CW start to move assets to the Mediterranean. An Infantry Corps, a Motorised Corps and Royal Engineers are on the move.

Adolf aligns Finland. There really is little else to do...

..In China the Japanese at last get the chance of an attack - against Hengyang. It's at 3:1 odds no modifiers and on the Assault table - but they have to go for it. Yamamoto uses HQ Support and a bomber is brought in to increase the odds to 4:1.

....it's a 6. The Chinese lose both defenders and the Japanese are not disorganised. They needed that...

To try and end the turn only the CW will get a move this impulse. Force H puts to sea to provide round the clock support to the army and air force on the continent.

The key hex first - I put my best Stuka onto it. He scores a 2 out of 3 hit rate.

The other three attacks all got at least one hit.

Because of the need to clear this key hex, the German abandon the idea of attacking two hexes and pile everything into the hex east of Paris. von Rundstedt gives HQ Support but aircraft cannot help the odds here.

HQ Support takes the odds to 4:1 +2 on the Blitz table...

...the Germans throw big at last. It's a 9(11). The French lose two units and the third is shattered. Not sure whether to save the Armour or the HQ, but I save the Armour.

Just one ground strike this time - against the hex southeast of Paris - which proves successful.

The 41st Panzer Corps spearheads an overrun against the out of supply and disorganised French Infantry holding the line north of the Vosges mountains, and that leaves one automatic attack against the lone 1st French Infantry Division trapped east of the Seine.

The one good news item for the French is that they will almost certainly end the turn with an intact river line.

For the two forthcoming attacks both Guderian and von Rundstedt seek to provide HQ Support. Two bombers are flown in for the southern attack and three precious bombers are used up further north.
