*****************August 2, 1943(c)***************

Quite an interesting turn. Kanoya was fully operational with a good complement of fighters so some TBF's armed with bombs were transfered in (none of the AIr HQ's there could draw torps yet) to augment the squadron of SBD's there.

A few B-25's on naval attack were moved to Ketoi-jima to cut off access to the Yerrow Sea. The B-25 range was chopped to 9 to avoid bases with heavy CAP and the naval bombers at Kanoya were set at full range.....then the sun came up.

First thing spotted are some transports milling about at Shimonoseki, which we discovered yesterday had a pretty good CAP. It is a thing of beauty to see so many disparate aircraft flying together in a strike package. They are all flagged to the same Air HQ. We have 34 escorts...they have 28 on CAP

Man in fine linen slacks: Bah, serves'em right for not buying the Yellow Sea Recon Rider.

QUIZ: Who here knows what a "Thai stick" is without looking it up.

HINT: It wouldn't be a very effective weapon to defend Tavoy with.

HINT #2: The sitting President would probably know what it is.
According to Cheech in the movie Up In Smoke, it's weed tied to a stick. In fact it was an early variety of sinsemilla from Thailand, very potent unfertilized female marijuana buds, that was tied to a stem from the marijuana plant. Quite sought after in California in the 1970s. At least in those parts Poodlebrain and his cronies frequented.

HAI! Mohhhhst excerrent. Some peopurhs expert on wines. Young pooderbrain expert on unfertirized womans and Mary Jane.

Who knows the origin of "sinsemilla"? Here it is presented as the adopted Engrish word "sin-suh-MEE-yah".

Also, as bonus, who knows the meaning of "roofing", a term allegedly invented by the sitting POTUS while he was studying hard to gain his miraculous admission to Columbia?*

The raid of Kaga seemed a bit "last gaspish". Good idea though probably should have been earlier before all the Ryukius were built up as bases.

Perhaps she was still being repaired. If she had got down toward Yorktown by herself it would have been a fair fight. Soryu is still around somewhere as well.

I spend probably 40-50K repairing the house, repainting, sanding and pimping out the wood frame windows and the &$^#@&@&@ HOA calls me to a hearing because we left a &#*@*!** ladder lying on the ground!
Numerous neighbors have stopped to say how nice everything is.

I am "permitted to bring legal counsel". I should hire the firm of
Smith and Wesson.

What if I were on steroids or picked that week to give up G&T and martinis? Do they send
mailers like that to menopausal women? People trying to quit smoking?

If you were running a crack house you wouldn't have these problems.

Have your legal counsel bring up the mental anguish that the $10,000 mailbox inflicted on you, and the HOA's negligence in not addressing it, as they have established that they are so clearly into details as to issue a bench warrant for your appearance due to a ladder on the ground!

Some unit made a shock attack while not in combat mode? Does the LAS have a staff problem?

That seems a tad personal question for a public AAR like this, in my opinion.

I thought you had Dewey, Cheatham and Howe on retainer? I realize most of their practice is corporate "arrangements", but surely they can dig some dirt on the HOA prez?
Have them check her garbage for roaches or broken glass pipes ...

A lot of charities here ask, that on a certain date, people put gently used clothing in a cardboard box and leave it on the driveway.

I get threatening letters from the HOA for doing that.

99.999% of all Allied pilots honored the strike, including all the reserve pilots, the trainees flying mail planes in Oz, the quadruple aces flying P-38's ...even the Chinamen....GONE.

Vaguely recall hearing about someone with a similar plight. I concur with my Argletonian colleague about a note to Michael M being in order.

Why is the vertical stabilizer on the Lancaster so scalloped? Is it fabric?

Also, you put flush rivets on the Lancaster fuselage and she might have broken the sound barrier.

They're all-metal. Don't know why they're that shape but the B-24's is too.

That monkey selfie picture has involuntarily grabbed a lot of attention from me lately.........You know what I think he's thinking?

"You push button, we make fire."

....sorry for hi-jack, and yes it was a picture of my real life furry freak brothers, Cheech N' Chong, tool'n down the road with a ____ as big as I wish mine was.
