[ADDED DB v436]

Interesting article on B-52 upgrade. Unfortunately no real info (that I can see) on what amounts of weapons this would lead to or an IOC. Considering things described I would reckon at least a year away so maybe for a 2016 or 2017 B-52 variant in the database? Anyone have any info on what kind of numbers to expect? (for GBU-38/31 etc I am assuming higher numbers than current?)

http://www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/560252/bomber-force-prepares-for-new-b-52-bomb-bay-upgrade-testing.aspx

edit: found an article from when they were starting out that has some numbers:

http://www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/467185/upgrade-gives-b-52-more-teeth.aspx

It mentions ALL being upgraded by late 2017 so a 2016 variant for the first operational examples might make sense?

More on this...from http://www.dtic.mil/descriptivesum/Y2015/AirForce/stamped/0101113F_7_PB_2015.pdf

quote:

Increment 1.1 consists of internal carriage of eight Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) and variants, to include Laser JDAM (LJDAM), on a rotary launcher. This increment also develops the capability for external carriage for 16 LJDAM. The CRL Hardware modification consists of Group A (equipment racks and electrical wiring) and Group B (one Survivability/Vulnerability (SV) junction box and one Integrated Weapons Interface Unit (IWIU) per CRL). The IWIU Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) was previously developed under the Advanced Weapons Integration (AWI) project. No CSRL replacements will be required as a result of this project. Increment 1.1 completed Preliminary Design Review in February 2013 and awarded an EMD contract in September 2013. Critical Design Review (CDR) was conducted in October 2013.

Sounds like 8 Mk84 size in bomb bay, plus an increase to 16 on pylons...

quote:

Increment 1.2 develops the capability for internal carriage of eight Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM) and its variants, to include JASSM Extended Range (JASSM-ER), and eight Miniature Air Launched Decoys (MALD) and its variants, to include MALD Jammer (MALD-J). This increment also develops the capability for external carriage for 12 JASSM-ER.

8 JASSM/-ER/MALD size in bomb bay, but keeping 12 external with addition of JASSM-ER?

http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-b-52-is-becoming-a-terrifyingly-intelligent-smart-w-1679885252 says
quote:

...Under the first phase of this upgrade, the Conventional Rotary Launcher will be able to hold 24 GBU-38 500lb JDAMs or a whopping 20 of the GBU-31 2,000lb JDAMs. Laser guided JDAMs and other smart gravity and glide bombs will follow soon after. Yet short-range weapons will not be the CRL's only claim to combat fame. Soon, the launcher will be able to sling gobs of stand-off weapons such as the stealthy AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) and the very guileful Miniture Air Launched Decoy Jammers (MALD-J)...

but this may be incorrect, as they say the CRL will be able to hold 20 when above PDF says 8

[MOSTLY PER DESIGN, MINOR MODS MADE DB v437]

I'm not seeing the option to load any KH-31 A's to the SU-34, SU-24M, or SU-24M2 via loadout. All are listed as "Air Force" but I can't find any Navy variants in the DB (these are meant to be Crimean Defenders, which is a SU-24M Naval Aviation Squadron). I can load the P ARM version just fine. I have been able to load them with the MiG-29K "Navy". I'm using 1.06, DB3000 Build 420 in a scenario set in 2017. I think there's a bug here as all should be able to load the -31A (and say they can).

Also the Bastion system is missing the Monolit-B radar system. An article on Janes (I can't post links) lists a system as comprising two TELs and two Monolit-B radars, presumably command vehicles.

I think most of the necessary informations are given so this might be an easy add?

Thales LMM (Lightweight Multirole Missile)

As a result, platform #3352 Wildcat HMA.2 [AW.159] gets an additional ASuW loadout equipped with 5x2 LMM / Martlet.

Thanks!

[ADDED DB v437]

I was doing a sorta AAR/demo of Command on another forum and one of the guys pointed out something about the Talwar. I don't know enough about the Indian navy to know the veracity of the comment, but I'll post it here just in case, as he made an effort to provide documentation.

quote:

The ECM/ESM system on Talwar class frigates is called TK-25E. Sometimes it is also referred to as ASOR-11356, but this is a generic name (ASOR for an ECM system and 11356 being the ship type).

Here's what the antennas look like on the first 3 ships of the class:

Here's the same system on the second batch, the next 3 ships. The system is still TK-25E, just a slightly updated model:

And here's what the MP-405 ECM system that is mentioned in your screenshots looks like. It was present on the earlier generation of ships.

There are some descriptions of both systems in this book: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=4S3h8j_NEmkC

And here's the manufacturer's website with some specs: http://kret.com/ru/product/13/ (use Google Translate)

[FIXED DB v437]

1. The DB says that the German Type 703 tankers went out of service in 2001 while two ships are still in service: Ammersee“ (A 1425), „Tegernsee“ (A 1426).

2. The DB says that the 212A has a maximum of 6 torpedos. actually the boats can carry up to 13 torpedos with a "revolver"-like reload mechanism for fast reloading of the tubes.
The Sonar seems to under perform too since it is supposed to be a lot better then the sonar of the american 688 boats.

An interesting option for the deep strike fighter competition eventually won by the F-15E Strike Eagle. I love the 15 Echo, but the 16XL definitely has the better look.

Loved those games! Still have them but nobody to play with these days. Also have the Speed of Heat version that added all the early jets as well. As I start to get a handle on making scenarios in CMANO, I'm definitely going to start examining some of the more interesting air-to-air battles from that era!

[ADDED DB v438]

(Posting it on the behalf of Excroat3 as he can't do it by himself yet)

#2252 North Korea 531 Najin (Kola Copy) 2004

would have been updated:

At Nampho the outdated anti-ship missiles, aft 57mm dual cannon, Drum Tilt fire-control radar and surface search radar were removed, and several new systems were installed. Most clearly identifiable are two 30mm automated turrets at the aft, likely based on the Soviet AK-630 CIWS. These systems are quite capable at providing close-in protection against aircraft or guided munitions, yet fail to give a 360- degree radius of cover, leaving the bow of the ship vulnerable.

At Pip’agot Kim Jong Un was seen inspecting a rack used for mounting four Kh-35 anti-ship missiles, placed in the midsection of the ship which used to house the two P-15/HY-2/KN-01 anti-ship missiles. Although not visible on existing imagery, it is likely that there are four of these racks considering the space available; meaning the refit Najin-class has at least eight Kh-35 missiles ready to fire.

While the 100mm guns might have been included in the new design because their replacement requires too much room to place, the 57mm dual cannon at the bow and the six 2M3 25mm dual cannons especially serve little purpose on the new refit version of the Najin-class. Therefore, it is likely that the ship’s modernization program is still ongoing, yet continuing at Pip’agot naval base instead of at Nampho. Plausible future modifications might be the replacement of the 2M3s by with the DPRK’s indigenously-designed six-barreled 14.5mm Gatling cannon, the placement of short-range surface -to -air missile systems and more modern radars (although these may already have been fitted).

The Yakovlev Yak-130 has already been requested by several others and, as far as I was told, is supplied with sufficient informations. Just wait and see if it's in the next update or the one after that.

Minor issue: SS-21 Scarab B (Tochka U) (#584, #650 and #1452) has incorrect service dates. It is still operational in Russian Army while the DB incorrectly has 2006 as 'Until' date.

[FIXED DB v438]

Hi guys,

I've been playing the "Detect, Deter, Defend" scenario (I think that's the name), and am having fun with it.

I did find a couple of database anomalies with some of the aircraft.

The F-101B never carried 20mm cannon.  It was only the A and C (single seat) models which did.  The B had the 2+2 flip rack of Falcons/Genies on the bottom.

The F-102 never carried the Genie rocket.  It was tested, I think on the YF-102, but never progressed past that point.  I'm unsure, if the Deuce carried the nuke Falcons, though.

Hope this helps.

Ed

[CORRECTED DB v438]

Did a little bit of research on the SA-22 Greyhound [Pantsir-S1]. Stumbled accross pictures of the Iraqi version which does employ a different search radar than other units exported elsewhere. So, the Database gives all SA-22s a radar designated as Hot Shot [2L80 Pantsir S1]. Ausairpower.net does mention an aquisition radar designated as 2RL80 and developed by the Russian company VNIIRT. Except Ausairpower.net, I couldn't find any other source (except those linking to the article...) claiming the existence of any sensor that bears this name. I checked the company website of VNIIRT for sensors produced for the Pantsir-S1.

http://www.vniirt.ru/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=10&Itemid=20

RLM SOC S-Band radar fitted onto the Iraqi and supposedly Syrian SA-22 Greyhound.

The 1RS1-1E that is in use with the Russian and UAE's SA-22 Greyhound.

It appears that the 1RS1-1E and RLM SOC S-Band have been merged into the 2L80 Pantsir S1(2LR80/2LR80-E??) in the DB. Both radars share fairly similar performance so in the end that might be fine anyways.
However, all SA-22 Greyhound lack the 1RS2-1E which is ,as far as I understand, the actual FCR.

I might getting fussy here but you may want to change the name for all SA-22 Greyhound DB platforms to SA-22 Greyhound [96K6 Pantsir-S1] (Russian sources claim that the export version for the UAE is designated 96K6 Pantsir-S1E)?

Also, the UAE version is mounted on a MAN SX 45 8õ8 chassis instead of the Russian KAMAZ.

[DeWolf ADDED DB v440]

Hello!

A few ideas for consideration:

RQ-180 UAV(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_RQ-180) for USAF, TARANIS UAV(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAE_Systems_Taranis) for the UK. The Harry DeWolf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_DeWolf-class_offshore_patrol_vessel) class AOPS for Canada just had a big announcement ceremony last week, I believe they're building 6.

Thanks for considering these ideas.
