LZ

Was the issue about adding commanders to the game ever resolved (copyright issue)? A Serbian General or 2 sure would go a long way to getting that corner of the map straightened away without a lot of adjustments.

It's just a little after NOONTIME EST Friday March 13th, about 5 pm in England, NO new patch! What's up? Wait till a stroke before MIDNIGHT when everyone in the office has gone home for the weekend.

<edit>

Just noticed on another thread they updated, SO MUCH FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT!

Just sitting back keeping an eye on how support is dealing with customer problems. In checking threads from yesterday and today, number wise, there have not been a lot of issues, the ones that result in CTDs are getting priority, where others like myself, who have basic questions, look like they will be answered later.

<EDIT>

Uh OH! Looks like casualties are starting to pile up...

This is sad... I'm sorry to hear this Kirk, it was your posts that gave me the incentive to get the game. Hopefully they will fix this...

Original post removed by me, because I was angry when I wrote it, and I apologize if I offended anyone, that was never my intention, I just want to improve the game play for everyone.

Kirk, I wonder if there is some way to turn your patch into a mod, and just skip the 'official' process. Your work reflects a genuine passion for the game that is so obviously lacking among the people in charge. It boggles my mind that after 4+ months of waiting for this...with delay after incomprehensible delay... that the end result is so subpar. If you ask me, they should hand the game over to you and split the profits. Then we'd all be happy campers.

I have added the ability to control Convoys manually, plus added Destroyers to the game, I have also done a great many more Commanders,not only for the Major powers, but also for the Minor Countries in the game like Serbia etc. I never said I would not do more modding for the game, I just stated a fact that I have not been contacted or consulted before the 1.6.2 patch was released. I will release a new advanced and enhanced mod for the game, but before I can do that, I will have to try and get the 1.6.2 Patch to run on my system without crashing, then once it does that, I will be add all my enhancements as a huge mod.

Commander Kirk,

I hope you can save the MOD spot on the game menu, got a feeling your MOD is going to be "HOT"!

I have not seen a post yet where anybody has had success playing 1.62 in either SP or MP, downloads yes, but not playing the game. I'm not talking about SUPPORT, for there has been none so far today.

Along with my huge 1914-1918 Mod, I will also be tweaking my Eastern Front Campaign scenario, to include a load off new stuff as well.

Another thing I don't recall or see over the last 4 months is: There has been "NO MENTION", or results about play testing the new patch before release..

Having a "bad" feeling that basic questions, the "nuts and bolts" of the game are going to go unanswered, much like it was before Kirk became active on this forum, those were "Dark Days"..

What did you do differently?

As far as I can make out there are still a number of us that cannot get this working but I have no idea how big or small this issue is in terms of people affected.

Okay - I'm assuming my issue is something else then because (I would have thought) the anti-virus would not allow the thing to load, whereas I can get the game to load.... only to CTD after three moves

Sounds similar to Kirk's original problem... (4 moves then CTD)

Did you do a new clean install using the games original CD ?

I had to uninstall the game, then re-install from CD,then updated the game with 1.6.2 patch.

The problem with my Anti-Virus, was that it does a check off my system on the hour every hour, and when it started to do the check, the game crashed, if I happened to be playing it at the time, I had to change my Anti-virus settings, and tell the software not to perform a check of my system if I was in the middle of playing a game.

Yes - twice. Its not the same problem because my crash happens at the same point every game.

Hi Robert, I just had a quick read up at the technical support, and looked at the posts you made regarding the game crashing on you. Do you have any kind of windows tuneup software, that fixes system registery problems, is your hard drive defragmented?

I just sent you PM Robert

If you don't have any windows Tuneup software. I can recommend you give this a try, you even get a free trial period. If you have a problem this will help track it down.

Hello Kirk,

There is a problem with Belgium not surrendering when it has "no" Belgian units in country, for that matter no units at all (all killed). Below is a SS from turn 6 as an example, will be followed by turn 7 SS, much the same thing: No Belgian units. Usually that means a surrender, or at the very least an offer to surrender. They don't even have a Belgian unit to be forced to leave the country, which also forces them to capitulate. Durrr! Any thoughts on this?

Thanks, Bob
