Allies sweep Hanoi and bleeding cap gets caught. 6 P38 Lightnings downed for about 20 Oscars, Tonies and Zekes.

The Musashi, destroyers and fast Es are converging on Torishima undetected. They will disband in port, get some last minute R&R, have their fuel tanks topped off and stand ready.

The KB is almost at Ominato, and will steam south to try and get behind these Allied task forces. Allied search in this areas has been weak.




That is an 11 hex move from yesterday's sigint location. So there is probably much more to this force than what I have spotted so far.

Looking good! Keep it up. Those tanks should do you proud there. Be nice if you had level 6, but if there was a last ditch effort to go level 5 that would still be pretty good.

The Tavoy defensive force is digging in, as strong as my other blocks in that area, except it is in x2 terrain. I have more troops on the way, plus heavy artillery.

50K supply just unloaded at Singers.

Sweeping Moulmein with Georges today.

More troop transport into Haha Jimi. Trying to run some last minute supplies in via ship. Iboats and Rboats converging. Didn't activate any midgets or MTBs yet.

Ships assembling. Planes assembling. Have to watch out for bombardment task forces starting tomorrow probably.

Toko Rockets start production in March/April timeframe.

Ha43 engines start a little sooner. The N1K5-J should start production Aug/Sept of 44 followed in three months by the Sam J if my factories stay intact.

Status: offline 		The Irving-Sa will probably meet Mr. B24 tomorrow night over Babeldaob. Runways are in good shape...

I am hoping with three cannons she will be able to make more passes against the bombers, the 2 gun version runs out of ammunition very quickly.

On the downside the slow Irving is even slower as the Sa version. A stately 309 mph.

Tracom pilots. Decent air leader. Good inventory of planes. Full plane reserve.

Still experimenting with settings....flying right at or 1K below the expected bomber run. There should be several waves of bombers...

Status: offline 		I usually fly the NF at 60-70% CAP. It seems like they don't tire out as quickly as day pilots, but also the biggest wave of bombers will be the first.

Sure won't . I drink the occasional IPA. I actually like the ones that have a grapefruity bitterness but I still don't seek them out. But the craze about it is a bunch of hooey to me. I hate fads and bandwagons. There are better beers for me to spend my money on, like Skullsplitter from Orkney.

Send me the recipe? I've got an all-grain Scotch ale recipe that I need to do again. I brewed it once and left the leaf hops in the primary fermenter and loved how it tasted. The next batch got infected, I think because the vodka in the air lock evaporated such that there was no longer a "lock"... but am curious about your recipe. Mine doesn't have a smoked flavor to it.

OK, this leads me to believe he actually is coming for Chichi. Probably because of SIGINT?

The last turn, which got short shrift because of my travel schedule, was fairly quiet, with the Allied forces moving back to the east and a little north to meet up with more ships. Could they be going for Hokkiado area? Oooh, pretty scary.

Notice the lack of carriers, I suspect the Deathstar is waiting to pounce.

I have put the Hokkaido area on alert, luckily I have not neglected this area, and the two nice islands close to Hokkaido have forts and at least a brigade and base forces. I am landing some AT units there. I have troops at Ominato that can airlift into Hokkaido, just haven't started it yet, but now seems like a good time. Even better is a size 27 Theresa Sentai that can only make short hops (normally a trainer). Troops all over Japan are getting ready to rail to the east, just in case.

Some supplies will land on Iwo today, and 15K are almost past Agoshima, so I have hopes for them as well. Starting to airlift another mixed brigade in to the weak sister, along with the 28 cm howitzers. I have AT guns that can be flown in fairly quickly along with a mortar unit or two depending on where the fleet seems to be going.

I thought about dashing out for a KB raid, but instead settled for three Emily squadrons on low altitude torpedo runs. We shall see what kind of air defense he has.

I am still moving troops to Indochina, and supplies, they have an incredible thirst.

I figured it might catch him totally by surprise, my search in the area is good, and he would have to get lucky sending forward the death star on exactly the same day I surged. Not sure he could get that lucky, but I chickened out and I know I will regret it. Maybe the Emilies will bring forth some destruction, 2 torpedoes each they are a potent force.

If I get a supply run in, and perhaps another heavy artillery I will feel pretty good here. Nice to get forts to 6, and the engineers are working on it.

Status: offline 		So, once again the Allies move on where I am the weakest...Kuriles and Hokkaido.

The massive fleets move northwest for 5 hewes and then northeast for 1 hex. So it is hard to determine where the landings will occur, but my guess will the the bases east of Etorofu, and perhaps Etorofu too.

However, Shikotan and Kunashiri have detection levels of 2/3 on them, while nobody else has any. Really tough to figure out who to reinforce. Largest airfields first I guess.

Another major airlift underway...

Another Rboat tangles with the destroyers in the fleet...to no effect, but the Rboat needs yard time now.




After the whole game with no escorts in this area, Allied subs show up and sink an xakl and an xak. He has move his subs right into my bases, air power did do some damage to them.

Status: offline 		I flipped Shikotan, the clear terrain island east of Kushiro to General Defence. I guess I should have done this in 1942, eh? Cost 10 or 20 points.

It seems as long as you have one 1AV present you can flip a base to the HQ of that one AV. It seems prudent to flip a whole bunch here tomorrow, as If I can fly in restricted troops it will make defense a little stiffer.

Ominato and Hachinoe have high Allied detection levels. The KB is in port undetected at Sendai. Needless to say everything is on their way here...

Status: offline 		My basic thought on using Land based air to defend here in the Kuriles/Hokkaido is to use multiple airbases, with each airbase launching one bombing squadron (or torpedo attack) escorted by 2 sentais of fighters. The attacks from multiple airbases will be at variable altitudes.

Rinse and repeat.

However I am also mulling one Sentai of 45 Betties escorted with as many Oscars as I possible can for the first attack? Or should I save that for a later attack once Allied air is a little more tired, and somewhat reduced. This way I can save the Betties for later, and put them all on night attacks and hope to get lucky (or at least degrade ammunition stocks).

Ahh, decisions.

I will throw the entire Japanese Land base air armada against him, leaving only some fighters in Indochina and short legged divebombers there.

I am going to hold nothing back, everything is expendable.

Any ideas on using land based air against him.
