If I could be bothered, I'd make a massive banner saying "More Maps!"

This will have to do

MORE MAPS PLEASE!

Wow! You guys are tough.

One of the neat aspects of playing Japan is the planes, r&d, and advancing to newer models. Unfortunately, that enjoyable part of the game is over for me.

Nothing great on the short run horizon, and Randy and George will come way too late.

I had no idea you had any control over the type of vehicle produced. Where do you access that - through the Intel Report Troops/Industry screen?

You don't, aside from setting some things to stockpile and setting units to upgrade (or not) and take replacements (or not). So long as the device is still Available, then presumably you could set units to continue taking replacements of older devices instead of upgrading them to use new ones, and the production system will automatically create those devices when the unit takes replacements. I assume, but have not tested this, that setting devices to Stockpile will prevent them from being taken as replacements, and therefore from being produced.

Basically, he was being facetious.

I will set all vehicles to stockpile except the Type 3 Tank....and turn on upgrades and replacements for those Tank Units eligible to upgrade to the Type 3 on or near the front lines.

Currently not making any vehicles at all, so I am building my pool up for June 1.

No, I have the N1K1. The N1K5 comes Jan 45 if I recall correctly. There currently are no repaired factories left researching -- they all have some damage.

Well, the N1K1 is pretty solid. It can go much higher than the N1K2, also. It doesn't climb well, but still might be a good defensive fighter against sweeps. Its other specifications put it at only a slight underdog to the P-47.

Generally speaking, I almost never fly defensively over 15K.

I will start my CAP around 2-5K with and layer up from there. Most fighters go between 10 and 13K.

May 28, 1944

Marauding Allied destroyers sink a PB and an E, but then the Lilly divebomber extracts some payback.

Meanwhile heavy bombers hit Honshu...and in Saigon heavy Allied sweeps insure a cleared airspace for the expected bombing of the defenders of Saigon. The Allies don't disappoint with a heavy bombing of Saigon in the afternoon.

And, once again, despite the odds the brave IJA pulls another one out of the hat!

The butcher's bill in the air today....

40 Kate kamikazes (see I am desperate) were hunting CVEs but only found destroyers and those that got thru the CAP all missed.

However, I guess I am happy for the day in the air.

By far and away the best anti-fletcher weapon the Japanese have is the Lilly divebomber. Great range, can hit Fletchers before they bombard, and actually hit the wee beasties!

I can't believe the Lilly IIb and IIc are planes most JFB's don't build. What is wrong with you guys?

That 100 kg SAP is a real ship killer...it always penetrates. Well, maybe not on battleships, but I have seen it penetrate on cruisers (admittedly they where thin skinned cruisers) and they always penetrate on Fletchers.

Ok, maybe Grace would be better. But I don't got any!

More than 50 ships have been put under with the lowly 100 kg SAP. Here is a partial list.

Indochina (major force dispositions)

Do we try to hold with our battered troops across from Saigon, or beat feet to the x3 terrain. The river crossing is nice, but my troops are fairly shot and not dug in. Trying to build up forces around Cam Ranh Bay, but troops in fighting condition are scarce.

Most forces have artillery and AA. We destroyed another dozen AFVs with our heavy artillery on the Vientiane road again today. Every day he loses...it keeps adding up even if it is only motorized support.

I will take anything I can get!

So, I have 13 or so divisions in this theatre...Obvert had over 20. Where did he get all the troops. Granted, I have had to heavily fortify Honshu...but still. 7 Fresh divisions here would really turn the tide of battle. I do know I have paid full PP cost for troops and perhaps that is the major difference since I never have any spare PP.

Helen with low nav will work equally as well, and generally you have lots of those without a special build. All you need to do is train the pilots ... Low Nav, 2000ft. I've had great success. 1 more hex range and 4x250GP is equal to 4x100SP for Fletchers, but far better against merchants.

Still Nell is my favorite at night. Port or AF attack, and very historical.
