Just got reminded of this map and scenario and came to check on it. Everything is very handsome. Looking forward to it when you have time to finish!

A whole campaign. It deserves an expansion in its own. Terrific job.

LOL! Still got both, fortunately.

...looking at your post are you extending that map? Yup your nuts.

Lol. Yep, I'm not sure how long this will take but I'm going to juggle between this and CO2 as I really want this scenario to see the light of day.

I made the classic mistake of making the map before doing my research on the scenario. I've found that I need to give the airports some space as they were major objectives and there will probably be some fierce scraps for them.

You're welcome. They were fairly easy and quick to do as I'd already done the base map and Paul provided some nicely detailed maps for the hypothetical scenarios.

Thanks. I'm only envisaging one scenario at this stage as the battle was only expecting to last 2 days. It will be a big one though.

That map defiantly deserves a campaign. Let MR get a hold of it, he could probably come with a campaign we can beat our heads against.

I really appreciate you mod guys. Through out the years i've attempted with various games to make maps. I just always fizzle out shortly after starting, as i would rather play than mod.In my small feeble attempts i became aware of the time requirements to do map mods and scenarios for games. We all have life's time constraints and i appreciate the fact you guys spend your free time improving games and my enjoyment of those games through your mods, thanks.

Gotta know when to stop yourself, Plodder. Before you know it, you might end up accidentally mapping all of Europe.

If you need some help for merging of the existing .fp9 to the extended map give me a call or perhaps I can do it for you.

I would say that there should be a campaign on that map after the release of Southern Storm where multiple nationalities can be on the same OOB!!!

We'll discuss that at the next Development Meeting.

Good Hunting.

Thanks Harry, I was just thinking of your tool, I'll give it a go once I'm ready. I really don't want to do the hexside obstacles again, lol

I had started on the roads when the thread on hex grid alignment reminded me that that my grid was slightly off. So I saved the map as test and put it into the map values editor where I saw I had to shunt the grid a few pixels to the left and then crop the map a few more. I also found that I had to add half a hex length to the bottom row. This has meant that I had to go back and add more water hexsides and contour layers. So I've cleaned up the mess and now I'm back to where I was with the roads.

it's a real shame you couldn't do maps for all war games, as in some there really needed, this level of detail is imo great and while i say it's eye candy and the AI and game itself is more important, i'm a idiot anyway so carry on as i'm sure everyone enjoys them, i do that is for sure, now we need to tempt you to the dark side and do some for other games lol, but of course only the ones i play :) lol

The madness continues. I was not 100% happy with Tempelhof airport still feeling too close to the eastern map edge, as this will probably be one of the major areas of fighting. It's been nagging me every time I look at it, so I've decided now was the time to do it before any more got done to the map.

I've extended the map east again to include more of the Wall. This enables more manoeuvre room for the Pact player to plan for an attack on Tempelhof. It also gives more of the American Sector to defend for the Allied player (and more mapping work for me to do!). I'm pretty happy with this now, I'd like to add more of the French Sector but I think the map is big enough for now.

Here's a screenie of the underlying map template I'm using with the original map shaded in grey.

Roads, railways, borders and Wall done. I had to re-jig the waterways again as I wasn't happy with some of the placements. Hopefully, I won't have to do it again.I'm onto the good stuff now, trees and buildings.

I'm well into terrain shaping now, NW corner is of the map is done. About to jump over the Tegeler See and into Tegel proper.

Nearly at East Berlin, it's slow going at the moment due to all these mixed terrain areas.
