Sometimes I feel as if the scenario turn length is a bit to short to enable realistic tactical approaches. Or maybe I am just a poor player....

In any case a person can easily change the game turn length in the editor under settings. I just pop in the new number I like and save it with the same name with the new game length number added afterwards. That way I have 2 of the same scenarios with different turn lengths.

Are you can ASL player? The turn length is pretty integral to the game, as it allows for more asymmetry in the battle. Took me forever to get used to it when I started playing ASL.

after so many turns doesn't it become a night turn or am I not understanding it correctly?

Right

the hurry in which the attacker is placed is a major element of ASL games.

it can be frustrating when you are a new player (it frustrated me a lot)

but once you get the point, it makes the game deeper and more interesting for both sides

I was an ASL player many, many years ago.

The profusion of rules and the profound lack of opponents caused me to put it aside.

I do know what you are saying about time/turn limits. They lend a certain gravity to the scenario.

I sometimes like to try a tactic that may take more time/turns,such as a "proper" flanking movement.

Also if a person has trouble with a scenario they can add a few turns to see what will happen.

that s why some scenarios have a turn lengh option in the "Balance" section
i was not born (thanks god), but i guess flanking required the flankers to double time their move and run faster to get in position at the right time to synchronize with others.

but i agree ; as a scenario designer, you have to balance the length right, for if it is too short, it removes too many tactic options from the attackers
