Status: offline 		A lone DMS bombards Tsushima, and the CD guns only hit once, and only an 8cm hit at that. But, the Fortress is at battle stations when a destroyer force comes calling.

40cm gun goodness!




A forward magazine explodes on the Foote...quite the explosion!

Status: offline 		Multiple 40cm and 30cm hits put the Terror down. Immediately prior to the Terror being destroyed, 3 Fletchers catch two 14knot PB and put them down.

Status: offline 		A late day snapshot of Honshu...good for planning purposes.






The Tone is at Fusan, the two BBs made Tsingato and the port and naval support there. Hopefully they can repair a few points of system damage in the next few days as they are undetected, I think.

Hopefully, I sank a lot more yesterday.

Status: offline 		A very positive VP day for Japan! Tracker has 6 enemy ships down but not the AD or the Terror. I wanted to look at them...

However, danger looms as the Allies are preparing for their next invasion! Invasions!!

Keeping the Sea of Japan safe for Japanese shipping is one of the more vital (abet often overlooked) requirements for Japan to have a good late-war game. Keeping that SLOC between Japan and Korea is pretty useful, even more so when the Soviets come into join the party!

I hadTsushima stocked really well, but then stripped it in the dark days of the heavy fighting at Osaka and then Nagoya. Now it looks like it may be in the cross hairs. I just put some SNLF squads in, and some 20mm AA, but it definitely needs more but Shimoneski and others are pressing needs too!

Luckily it is only a barge trip away.

Status: offline 		Allies lose two minesweepers, an AM and YMS, a third is damaged but not sunk. Sinking sounds heard.

The damage in the air is good for Japan...

There are now 8 units, up from 4, at Oki Shoto.

We manage to fast transport some heavy equipment, (artillery portion of a division) and get them to Honshu.

In addition over 2000 supplies reach China, and another 3000 a day behind. Every little bit counts.

Surely the Allies are resting up in preparation for their next big invasion.

Status: offline 		The ground crew work their wonders in a day. All the damaged planes will be loaded onto trains for another 2 day stay at an undamaged airfield on Honshu.

The fighters repaired today, will offset to a degree this days losses.

Fighting the best I can, but boy it looks grim. Still making 3 Type 3 tanks a day; but only 1 Oscar rolled of the line at Harbin instead of 3. Out of Ha35 engines...3 in the pools and I make 3 a day. Time to turn off the A6M5c in favor of the Oscar.

Almost all replacements turned off now. AA, ART, Armor are the exceptions. Lots of devices set to stockpile.

Shimoneski advanced to a level 4 fort and further expansion of the forts was deemed a supply waste and cancelled.





These planes were all disabled 24 hours ago.

Status: offline 		In an interesting naval exploit of daring, the 3 E's that were launched at Tokyo, skirmished a few times with PT Boats and finally left as aerial bait at Yokohama under their own discretion...when much to the surprise of the IJN Command Staff they decided to breakout and actually survived the Allied destroyer fleets and ended up south of Nagoya the following afternoon.

IJN Command sent them an order to disperse, and they did heading at flank speed in three different directions: the Bonins, the Kanoya, and to Daito Shoto.

And they actually survived. There is some small hope that perhaps two E's will reach Luzon and the other E will work around the western end of the Tsushima Straits.

This is a signal success. Every other E attempting to breakout of Yokohama has ended up sunk within 20 miles of the port.

The benefits of local decision making over top down orders.

Success cannot be measured on just one scale but must be measured on it´s own merits.

I thought I was doing well, well enough for an end date of Jan 1, 1945 with plentiful rebuilding -- but for about the last month the Allies have stuck with an airfield destruction program. Almost every air field in western Honshu has been destroyed and destroyed by serious overkill.

Lots and lots of devices set to stockpile so I can turn on replacements for an Engineering unit and only replace the 20 or 25mm AA guns and radar. Heck, I am even stockpiling searchlights.

I have plentiful supply in the SRA, and to a lesser extent Luzon, and I am shipping it out every day in dribs and drabs. Almost all of it is aimed at feeding China, which has become a huge supply drain with all the planes there and all the troops there now. Didn't really expect that, and I can only shudder at what it would be like with an active Soviet.

I have 3 basically destroyed infantry divisions heading back to Shanghai, along with the 1st and 2nd Tank Divisions which are there unpacking. I plan to run them across in fast transports to Nagasaki area and then rebuild them.

I also repaired some Jack factories to boost production a little bit, hopefully not noticeable, since I have the engines for that beauty.

But other than that I have been pretty miserly with supply expenditures -- it is the lousy bombers. I guess the daily 10 BB bombardments didn't help either.

But the days of spending are over! I will be eating rock soup before it is all over, especially if the Allies pursue an Industry attack against Korea and Manchuko (still pretty much untouched).

Really no more land unit reinforcements during the next 120 days. Artillery and Engineering only pretty much.

Holds for ships too. In fact, the greatest reason to subscribe to a fleet in being strategy & air force preservation is that by the end game your understanding of how the game works has so improved that you can trade off your ships & planes in a much better VP ratio and you have the supply to do so.

Did that make sense?
