AllenK you've been playing with oil previously. Have you seen a bug whereby the French cannot use oil saved in Syria to re-organise units in France i.e. not on the Mediterranean Coast?

I've never tried it but don't think it's a bug.

At the oil reorganisation step there isn't any oil showing in Damascus. The oil is confirmed to be transported to Damascus in Finalise Production but that comes after Oil Reorganisation. I guess this means the oil hasn't been sent yet and therefore not available for reorganisation.

Playing through the phases, the transported and saved oil oil doesn't seem to appear on the map until the start of the new turn. It's the same for the Italian and Japanese oil I'm saving.

Sorry I should have made clear, I am not talking specifically about this turn. Someone has said there is a bug here. Since posting I have tried out by advancing through the impulses to the next turn and I could definitely re-organise Billotte - so I think (and hope) this is false information.

Ah, okay.

Perhaps something that was a bug once but has now been cleared up.

Yes an old bug perhaps - false information sounded a bit sinister!

There was a German 5 range, 4 strength land bomber that reached the hex west of Antwerp without using extended range. With rain affecting the French ability to advance into Belgium. And, as I see it, the risk that one of the Belgian units becoming disorganized by a ground strike was above average. I therefore decided that the risk to place the units west of Antwerp/Brussels was substantive. However, by placing the 2 Belgian infantry Corps in Brussels there was a small chance that Germany would fail to capture the city and decent chance that the attacking force would become disorganized. Therefore, I judged, that it was likely that, if I placed the Belgians in Brussels, Germany would use a offensive chit. And since placing the units in Brussels did make the Germans spend one offensive I am still confident that this was the best option in this game.

As an observer, I can only see the top units. In a usual French set up, the Germans ground striking (wasting the Stuka and/or Ju88) the Belgians in the hex west of Brussels in a situation like this would have been a mistake.

With the French out of place (and foul weather), those ground strikes would have been ideal (not sure I would have used both though).

My worst luck ever was at a con no less. I was playing US/China. My US entry rolls AND chit picks were so consistently bad that the US didn't go to war until M/A '43!

It is indeed so.

But when you think the situation looks interesting you could always ask and I might be able to make another picture.

Chiang is now saving Mao's forces. (The Nationalists held Si-An for the entire war, mainly defending it from the Communists, not the Japanese; though possibly only US diplomacy kept the detente status quo in place in that area. I so wish that WiF would update the situation in China some day.)

In the board game Si-An is normally taken by the Japs early on...but that could be due to the size of the board game map.

At times Communist cities are given over to the Nationalists when it makes sense to do so. The way this map looks, perhaps the Nationalists defending south of the Yellow including Si-An, with the Commy's defending the mountains to the north might be interesting.

Okay Gents

Is there a plan for this evening? Are we looking to get Nov/Dec started?

Just gone into the AXIS thread again Gents can you change the name please? Something suitably offensive like we have done would be good

I've asked in the GD Forum if there is any way of changing the title. There are some good mods there that might be able to assist.

Yours still shows its title as 4 Player E-mail: Allied Only AAR.

I tried to change ours but there is no option for me to do it. Maybe Mayhemizer can as the thread starter.

Yes it still shows as that because there seems to be no way of changing the actual title (and is the reason for the request in the GDF). However, as a part solution I have amended the name that appears if you go into the main WIF thread. If our thread is the last to have a post it will at least show as "Keep off this thread Axis Filth!!!"

Not a full proof solution but the best I can offer at the moment.

Italy and Japan end of turn details.

Italy saves the traded oil in Milan, leaving 2 BP’s for production.

Japan saves one oil from NEI at Truk and sends the other for production. This gives 8 BP’s.

Stay at Sea/RTB

Italian subs go back to La Spezia. ATR to Genoa. Nothing at sea for Japan.

Italy uses it’s oil to reorganise 3 subs, Atr, Ftr, 2 BB and CA’s Bolzano and Trento.

Japan reorganise all with the oil at Hiroshima and Saesbo.

No scrapping for Italy or Japan.

Italy builds Nav-2.

Japan builds 4 CVP-0, Mil x2, CP x2, Pilot.

Italy assigns pilot to SM.79. Place at Genoa. Inf Div at Turin, Mot to Milan.

Japan 2x Mil only to place.

Ah, such eloquence.

Edit: Do the Allies have any details of their stay at sea, production and reinforcement placement they wish to post?

It worked when I tried it - although it needed 6.64 of oil and not the lesser number on your screenshot.

Note: I used the last saved game. Maybe its changes to the convoys you've carried out?

So you had the oil saved oil available?

Edit: So you didn't use the save I sent along with the picture?

Edit2: The number is not that important.

This is what happens when I press reorganise all - and then a further button (as it took 5.95) to take it to 6
