Option deux it is.

How would the RN like to apportion the aborts?

They do have a kill to show for their efforts.

Note: I didn't bother with the die roller as whatever was rolled, this would have been the result.

The U-boats return to Brest. Where would the RN ships like to replenish stores?

Right I need to turn in. I suspect there will be no interaction required with the Allies tonight - can you let me know if you think this not the case please?

Plymouth it is.

Across the other side of the world, the Jap artillery opens up on Nationalist units east of Sian.

It doesn't amount to much.

The Axis decide they have had enough of this puppet government in Vichy and rail an Italian Militia unit to Toulouse.

The US gets annoyed when the Japanese occupy Madagascar (6 rolled, 1 chit to Jap pool). It isn't entirely pleased at the Axis actions either (8 rolled, 2 chits to Ge/It pool).

When Axis forces over-run Marseilles a Trans, a BB and a CA are destroyed. The remainder must flee. Where would the French like to send them? Individually or all ships then all subs?

Well that was an unpleasant surprise to wake up to....

I don't know about Vichy under these rules so, looking at the rules, but without the map, I have the following questions:

Each home country or territory aligned with Vichy France becomes conquered by any Axis major power that has a land unit in it.

Are there any territories that remain under Axis control? I assume Madagascar is one because of the action taken above - any others?

Commonwealth and Free French units cooperate

Do the Free French units suffer from the same restrictions as (for example) the Dutch i.e. they cannot enter a minor country (e.g. Egypt) - or is this restriction off? I cannot see if they are treated as a major power or a minor power in this regard.

Also there were 6 BB and 2 CA in Marseillies - is the picture above incomplete i.e. should there be another BB and CA to be re-based (in addition to the BB,CA and TRS destroyed?)

Presumably the units in Syria and Morocco are now Free French?

Thanks!

Vichy aligned minors that were already conquered by the Axis stay that way. Thus Tunisia, Madagascar, and Indo-China stay Axis conquered.

Free France is a major power. Its units may enter any active minor, just like both CW and French units could both enter Belgium. Since it now cooperates with the CW, it may enter CW home countries as well. (And the US when the US enters the war. Very important when the French builds transports, which the Allies really want to do.)

I have no idea what units were in Marseilles.

All Vichy units not in Vichy become Free French, so yes, French units in Morocco and Syria are now Free French.

Free France is considered an incompletely conquered major power. (RAC: 17.1)

So the Free French ships can stack in all CW ports. And in their aligned minors as well (As long as there are no minor country units in the hex). Although, stacking Free French ships in the same port as CW ships incur a MP penalty for two major power ships in the same port.

Might be better to abort the SCS together if the Italian aircraft finds?

Maybe Free France have had a BB and CA turn invisible? Edit: Joking aside. There seems to be a BB and CA missing.

I couldn't save the game at the point we reached last night, so I'll have to re-run it from the rail move to Toulouse. I think on the damage report I missed out one destroyed ship but that wouldn't account for the other's missing. I simply hovered over Marseilles when the over-run rebase phase came up and those were the ships showing.

I'll run it through again, using the die rolls from last night as I saved the E-mails.

Vichy ships at Marseilles.

The 6 for Madagascar occupied puts one chit into the Jpa US entry pool.

Over-runs (whatever comes up as I can't remember last night's sequence).

Ah, now it looks as though something did go slightly adrift as I have run out of die rolls and still have units left to do, which didn't happen last night.

Carrying on. Eleventh

On an 8, 2 chits go the Ge/It US Entry pool.

Revised map for the fleeing ships. All together or one at a time?

Since Warspite1 seems to be away at the moment I am taking this one.

All the SCS go together and go to Dakar. (Senegal is now Free French, right?)

The submarine go to Beirut.

The flight of the French navy.

The French surface ships flee the port of Marseilles into the West Med. Italian CA Zara is detailed to intercept them. In a hopeless confusion of signals, the cruiser heads off on the reciprocal bearing. By the time the mistake is realised, the French ships are long gone and safely heading to Dakar (9 rolled).

The sub sails to Beirut without incident.

J/F '40 End of Turn

No Partisans.

US place one entry chit in the Japanese pool.

US starts Chinese aircraft production and give destroyers to CW. One entry chit is moved to the German tension pool.
