So what's the situation with NATO-type counters, are they still a work in progress or what?
Sorry but I hate the standard 3D counters because they're a bit childish and the colours are dull and hard to see, so I'm struggling to play til we get colourful NATO counters which will give the game a slick professional-looking adult polish.

Dunno if this chart will give some ideas-

Thanks for taking the time to work on the game, I think it's beneficial for players to be encouraged to continue to work on improving the game, very nice counters.

I'm also strongly in favour of, and support your work in designing NATO-style markers. They're a far more efficient method of showing a lot of vital information in a small space at a glance.
When I'm gaming, the information is what I want, not pretty sprites, no matter how well-drawn they were.

I think thatthe counters similar to those used in Conflict of Heroes would fit the best to the Panzer Corps style:

An interesting exercise in perspective, but it does look as though the player has to highlight one counter (unit) at a time in order to get all the details in that info panel.

In Time of Wrath (or most of my SPI games), I can look vertically (the God perspective) and absorb information from six or seven counters at once. That's more efficient.
I WANT "efficient", not pretty.

So what's happening? Are we definitely going to get 2D counters or not?
I'm trying to get serious adult players interested in the game but they won't touch it because they say the 3D icons are childish and dull, and i tend to agree with them.

PS- I've just mailed Erik Rutins to suggest that he commissions somebody to produce colourful 2D counters and have given him a link to this thread.

this is auful :/ , why would anyone want this? It takes away from the feeling the units are actually fighting, Its just 2 cards positioned next to eachother.

Some other Matrix games have an option for players to choose to play with 3D icons or 2D counters, but surprisingly Pz Corps has no such option, we only get 3D's, and it puts a lot of people off buying the game because they don't like 3D's.
Look at the first post in this thread showing how great 2D counters would be, but I'd suggest traditional red for Russian, and field-grey for German..:)

I started a poll on the Slitherine forum to canvas the degree of support for this idea. Only one forum so that duplicates don't occur.

The bottom line is that if there was an option to toggle to 2D units, thousands more people would buy PzCorps, it's strictly business..:)

I can't waste any more time waiting for Nato counters, I'm uninstalling PzCorps until somebody mods some

Sounds more like the players being childish, not the icons. Big whoop.

Deleting the game will teach those lazy modders though.

Shared unit graphics between countries will sometimes give you a non-matching counter color

Shared units or counters with closely matching colors: the problem can be avoided by adding a small country flag in the empty space on top of the counter.

Personally I would like the option to have NATO counters. I don't know houw many times with this game that I have attacked with engineers thinking that they were normal infantry.

I prefer counters at long (strategic) zoom level and 3D units close up. As for terrain, it is awful murky and mustardy looking to me and I wish it had more color "pop" to it. But oh well...

One of the reasons wouldn't buy this game is the 3D sprites. I like NATO counters, even though I do at times forget what some of them mean. I think that if 3D sprites are used they need to be done to scale. I don't want to see a tank that is as large as a hill. gunnergoz has it right. Use 3D at tactical levels and NATO at operational and higher levels.

Seriously? 3 post in 10 years, and one of them for a game you don't even own, just to tell you won't buy it either?
