In general, I feel that the luck has gone the Axis's way in this game. There is, however, one significant exception: German attacks. How many good German attacks have failed this game? I don't know exactly, but a good answer would be "a lot".

That's my sense too. My feeling is also that luck put Germany at the wide open gates of Stalingrad and the Caucuses in position to render a crippling blow to the Soviet Union only to see those gates slammed shut not once but three times on horribly unlucky rolls. This game alone has given my a perspective on Stalingrad that no books or shows has ever given me. What a game!

I don't think that Germany could manage the worst result possible if they had attacked the disorganised Soviet stack. The Soviet airforce is in positions to give a lot of ground support to the hex (16 ground support points at least in the area). I estimate the odds to be about +7 at most. That's not a very good attack at all in 1944 for the Axis. They don't have units available to close gaps if they lose units...

You still aren't building Chinese aircraft or ART. Those should be the Chinese highest priority.

Agreed. You don't need boots on the floor, but artillery and planes in the skies. Guns first, planes second. Boots on the floor: not interesting. The Chinese have the advantage in numbers already, but they can only use those numbers against disorganised Japanese, because they have weak combat factors...

The Soviets should also be building ART and more bombers. Those ARM and MECH are nice, but bombers and the Stalin Organs are very, very good units to use in the coming offensive...

I would build one US-lent long range bomber first. If the Japanese don't have fighters in China, it is better than an ART. If the Japanese do have fighter coverage, it is not useful, except that it has forced the Japanese to deploy fighters in China that the Japanese really want to use elsewhere.

(All bombers lent to China should be US. The Russian lend lease bombers are either utter rubbish or the best bombers the Russians have. The Chinese don't want the former, and the Russians won't let the latter go.)

In the cool of a day later I completely agree. A low roll would have been catastrophic for the Germans while a high roll would only have been nice. So, the German generals made the correct choice.
