Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. End of Turn. Conquests. France Conquered by Germany.

No choice where France was concerned. The fall of France resulted in 2 chits being added to the US Germany/Italy entry pool.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. End of Turn. Conquests. France's New Home Country.

Those in the French government who could get out did and set up France's government in exile in Senegal.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Trade.

There's two non-mandatory trade agreements, both highlighted in blue. One is axis and one is allied. The remaining trade agreements are mandatory.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Initiate, First Roll.

The allies win the first roll for initiative, 9 to 8.

Do you wish to re-roll?

And if you do and win would you wish to move first or second?

By the way, I'm not understanding something. Why would the axis win ties? You moved first last turn. Is this a bug? The allies won the initiate last turn but let the axis move first.

I will not demand a re-roll.

I believe I win ties because you won the initiative last turn. You had me move first, but you still had won the initiative.

From 6.1 in the RAC, first paragraph, last sentence: "If tied, the side that had the initiative from the previous turn loses."

And since it worked out so well last turn I decide to let you move first this turn.

Germany aligns Hungary, resulting in a chit going into the Ge/It entry pool.

JF41 i1:
Axis actions: JP, IT combined; GE naval.
Germany and Italy have flown 1 fighter each into the 2-box of the W. Med.
Germany and Italy have moved their subs into the 4 and 3 box of the BoB respectively.
The Germans have moved several CP and the Amph and Tran out to the Baltic.
The Germans are currently moving 3 ships (the Bismarck, Deutschland, and Graf Spree) into the N. Sea. Will you intercept?
The Germans have 3 other ships (Gnie., Scharnhorst, Adm. Hipper) ready to leave Kiel (will you intercept them if they move?)

JF41 i1:
Per instructions, no interceptions. The first 3 ships moved on to the Faeroes Gap 1-box. The next 3 moved to the N. Sea and stopped in the 4-box.
Possible combats shown below.
I do not initiate combat in the Faeroes Gap.
I do initiate in the N. Sea (disorganize the Schwarnhorst). Rolls of 6/8 meant no contact.
BoB in next post.
You may want to think about what will react to the W. Med and into which box.

JF41 i1: Bay of Biscay
Round 1 searches 1/8 (disorganized the 3pt German sub to initiate the combat). [I'm feeling somewhat bad about my good luck with subs over the last 2 turns. But not enough to stop the attacks. ]
Subs engage the 0-box only with 11 surprise points.
Move the damage up to 3X 2A.
Will the CW stay for rnd 2?

2nd round rolls of 6/2 meant the allies found. I avoided combat for you. Where do you want the 2 aborted CP to go?

W. Med, the GE fighter initiates. rolls 6/5 -> no contact.

I'm assuming the CW will not initiate in the Faeroes Gap and continue with this assumption.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Allied #3. Questions.

I have some questions on whether or not you wish to try to intercept and initiate combat in two different areas. But first, I like to give an overview of the situation in the Faeroes Gap and North Sea, which could influence your decisions.

In the Faeroes gap, the allies made no naval moves that would give the axis the opportunity to try to initiate combat. I will not try so there will be no naval combat in that sea area this impulse.

In the North Sea, the RN moved in a task force that will try to engage the KM. So, there will be an attempted naval combat, initiate by the allies, in the North Sea this impulse.

Now the questions, which are in the next two posts.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Allied #3. Bay of Biscay. Two Questions.

1. Do you wish to attempt an intercept against the 4-4 transport loaded with the Whilwind fighter unit? If so, which unit would you like to use to try.

2. Do you wish to attempt to initiate combat in the Bay of Biscay. If so, and if you answered no to question 1, which unit would you like to use to try.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Allied #3. Western Med.

During the naval air phase the CW flew two Beau-fighter units to the 3-box in the Western Med. The allies will not attempt to initiate a naval combat. Do you wish to? If so, which unit would you like to use for the attempt? And do you wish to add any additional air units to fray? If so, which ones?
