People have already mentioned some of his best screen work - 10 Rillington place, the naked civil servant, I Claudius and 1984.

I have seen him in many movies. The link said he was 79. I always thought that he looked so old in the movies, and that he was much older.

Status: offline 		The man was a great actor and played some iconic roles such as Kane, Joseph Merrick, Winston Smith and Quentin Crisp. I watched Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull again recently and I always forget he is in that movie.

He was also probably the last of the great hell-raising actors these islands have produced.
