Nothing dramatic. A few brigades stuck behind lines

Silly corrals my forward tanks onto rough hex detached from main force.

Will they survive? or have I sacrificed more tank corp.

A German tank division arrives to help. Are more on the way?

I build more inf corp and counterattack german back over the frozen river.

This was not a clear cut win situation

more counterattack

Here on 1 mot experienced divisions thru a zoc retreat.

Where are the losses. These high experience German troops run away too fast and easy and thus avoid casualties.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Or snide remarks. Funny ones especially.

I will try and hold here on the edge of the forest swamp.

To do so I must attack germans when on clear terrain.

Here is the attack lineup

To rescue my trapped tank corp I had 2 choices.

1: attack the mountain hex but retreat might double up key german in the way.

2: or sneak in 2 cav corps and a cv5 tank corp and direct attack the blocking german.

# 2 wins and tanks are free for one more turn.
I then move out the attached support units from trapped tanks to save them from having to be rebuilt.

I also rout a inf hq in this attack

Now for the rough hex.

I get my largest or second largest adjusted cv value of the war and Mountain troop is dislodged (tactical objective secured).

I rush in 2 good tank corp to secure the rough hex.

One question, how many Political Point was the cost to change plane production from 100% to 80% ?

The fact that you fight back each turn despite having a quite small army is outstanding. I really have to be more aggressive in my game.

I believe its 1 ap for each production point reduction. I did this 20% down over a year earlier.

I remembered playing a game with release 1.07 or something like that some time ago. Men production soviet side was so big it was possible to send bloody offensives all the time. It was very fun. Probably too much.

But now with 60K men and 50K attrition each turn, i'am such a coward.

I'am still amazed to see 1 million Armement point in my stock and 0 men. I'am not historian, i do not know if it is realistic. I would have expected the reverse but maybe it is a misconception.

Open german attacks

My main worry is those 2 attacks just below Moscow. He seems to want to be on east side of the river.. for summer offensive?

Also he may be trying to get a d line which is forest rather than clear.
Then maybe he will move tanks elsewhere for a March or summer(Kursk)43 offensive. He still, obviously, has the strength to do so.

16.3.3.5. Air Superiority Missions

There is no separate mode for conducting a mission consisting of fighter air group units attempting to engage enemy air group units in air to air combat. Players can approximate this type of historical operation by setting up a manual bombing mission and deselecting bomber air group units so that only fighter air group units conduct the mission. Bomb airfield missions against air base units will usually be the most effective application of air superiority missions.
Note that in a situation where fighters are available and in range, but no bombers are available, players will be unable to set up a bombing mission since the computer won't allow a mission if there are no bomber air group units to initially include.

Not sure as it's ever worked properly. Clearly your pilots declined the invitation.

Germans get a reserve activation but still lose battle. The retreat goes behind the other advanced german stack.
Which I will attack next

I build another corp and hope for victory. Not clear cut from beginning.

But I get the big win with Kolpatchi as lead general.

Todays repeat lesson: Attack before Germans can did in!
