Any tips for North Africa would be helpful
I dont know where am going wrong but playing as the allies with the AI on + 1 spotting +1 xp 10% mpp i can never hold north africa as soon as the reinforce rommel event happens they just steam roll over the british after 5/6 turns
I have 2 HQs 3 tactical bombers, 2 fighters, armys/corps
2 hexes deep of fortifications at el alamein and 2 carriers in the med once some of the infantry is destoryed theres nothing to stop them. Does anyone do anything differant

german and italian infanty had level 2 infantry research, british had level 1
German tanks had level 2 tank research, british had level 1

Reroute the BEF from France to North Africa. Just march all of it to the southern ports and transport it there. You will eventually get other reinforcements in theater from various in game scripted events. That's all the theater needs to do the job and from there take out Italy proper. (Scripted events with provide you with 10. Army from East Africa, 7. Armored Corps, two ANZAC corps, and later on some arty and AT arrives in Egypt.)

The only thing you might want to add to this is a tac bomber or two and at least one medium bomber. You start with one, and eventually the US will give you another tac bomber for free via another scripted event. So if you're not a big hurry then the only builds you need to worry about are the medium bombers (and you're going to need those more for Italy than North Africa.) The one strategic bomber you start with is also more useful in NA than in the UK, imo.

If the AI decides to further reinforce NA, then you might have to add more to the area than all this (or not, if you've already whittled down Rommel, then Schorner by himself isn't a big deal and can be handled by the above forces,) but otherwise you're good to go with this package.

Also: don't wait. Attack the Italians in Libya as soon as they enter the war. You'll have a 6 month window or more where they are on their own. It's pretty easy to push them out of Cyrenaica at a minimum, and with a bit of luck you can be pressing towards Tripoli before Rommel arrives. He can be easily dispatched at normal settings with the above package.

Don't sit tight in Egypt or build fortifications or any such nonsense. Britain should be on the offensive here and defeat the enemy in detail. The worst thing you can do is to allow the Italians to leisurely build up and then be reinforced by Rommel. You have to get ahead of all of this and disrupt it. With the BEF in NA you can do this and preempt the Axis from ever reaching a critical mass. Then the other force arrives by scripted event as described above.

Don't bother sending a fort unit to NA, as I see other players doing. If you're doing it right, you won't need it.

I've done this at max settings, BTW, so it should work on +1.

Arh thats what av not been doing then i left one or 2 ground units in england and only pushed and held ground until the forts were ready and not really doing much attacking... looks like its a game restart then, Oh one other thing. Is it worthwhile sending a unit to greece btw to help hold out as long as possible or just leave it to its fate

Greece is toast. Ditto France. Not worth the bother in either case, don't send units or MPPs in either direction. UK has to play the long game: securing the Med, starting with NA and then knocking Italy out ASAP. This hurts the Axis far more than anything you can do in Greece or France.

France can't be reliably held because their morale will collapse and you can't get enough non French units in there in time.

I've held Greece, but it was with early American entry, and heavy reinforcement of fighters and artillery to back up armies holding a fortified neck.

By the time they invade Greece the Germans usually have scary air power. The ability (from the sky) to zap a hex on that small front, and with the limited strength available to the Allies, your defense can crack in a flash.

What? Can you operate it to NA? If not, how are you transporting it to NA without having to go through Gibraltar? Are there hexes around England similar to off the coast of the US where you can transport to the Red Sea?

No, you ship it over from Marseilles and other ports in the south. You might have to operate the HQ south if you are in a hurry, it takes a while to march south from its initial location, although generally it'll get there before the Italians activate. The other stuff can force march in 2-3 turns to said ports.

Oh, you must be playing the grand campaign. I don't have that ability in the Barbarossa campaign. The BEF is already back in England.

I think the key in Africa is destroying the Italians as soon as possible (before Dec 40 anyway). In my experience, the AI never reinforces them. You need to have a unit close to Benghazi in December so Rommel can't land there but at Tripoli instead. Then let the DAK come to you and destroy it piecemeal.
