Dear Design Team,

I really enjoy WITW. Part of my pleasure comes from the logistics and production system, the air system
and the great Editor. I want to respectfully request consideration of some new features for the Editor and custom scenario-making.

1. Editor switch to Turn Off/On Italian surrender or delay it happening until a certain date. This would allow a custom scenario where Italy did not give up so
easily (maybe custom balanced by other Allied force or production adds).

2. Editor switch/addition to allow custom access and play in Spain, Portugal and Morocco (maybe only for those with the
Operation Torch expansion if that is a business model issue). This would allow custom scenarios to explore the what-ifs
of a German invasion of or alliance with Spain. [Spanish forces could always be simulated by German, Italian or Allied troops etc.]
This would also allow a longer length North Africa custom scenario. [For example, Vichy forces could be represented as Italians.]
This is not a request for more planned AI features or pre-made scenario(s)!
It would be up to the custom scenario maker or players to design or house rule fudge around such areas.

3. Editor switch/addition(s) to allow either a high 'stable' German East Front CV to push back the Soviets a hex
as a random event; AND/OR better control of when/how the Soviets move forward; AND/OR better control of losses on EF.

4. Similar to No. 2, consideration of an Editor switch(s) to open all of Libya, Greece/Balkans or Southern Norway for custom scenario use.
This would allow custom exploration of other hypothetical Allied invasion targets.

5. An Editor switch/option to continue a game (even into 1946) if Berlin has not fallen yet. A sort
of bitter end option.

As a final note, I would certainly be interested in another paid expansion like Op. Torch for this game.

Very good proposals MilObserver. Thank you.

1. That would improve What-if Scenarios in Italy a lot. Now it makes no senses to design one and to really use the Italian Army for anything.
2. A perfect what-if DLC. I know you are already working on WITE2 and there might be a greater market potential, but nevertheless is would be a great addition.
3. Now the options to influence the East Front in the Editor are fairly limited, would be fun to Delay the red advance a bit and see what happens in the West then.
4. That would make what if scenarios like "Balkan Invasion" possible. Awesome.
5. A bitter end would be great, especially if you could delay the Russians.

I really like to idea of extra scenarios for the WITW and really willing to support it, although the time we have for it is quite limited and items you are asking for are not so simple in many cases.

The good news though is that we are working on map area access changes for the WITE2 and since games still share the same code base, WITW might get some changes as well.

Overall, WITW is not abandoned we work to fix issues and probably adding extra features.

Hi Pavel/Helpless,

That is good news on all fronts. And thank you for your quick, informative reply. I am certainly excited about both WITE2 and whatever more can be expanded with WITW. I appreciate the difficulty and coding work that any enhancement represents - the devil is always in the details. I also think your team shouldn't have to work for free, and that offering a paid DLC expansion for more WITW content is always fair game so to speak.

Two detail thoughts came to me about the requested WITW features. Perhaps it would be easier to code an alternate Italian 'surrender' switch by simply linking it to the fall of Rome? Italy staying in the war until Rome falls could represent the SS/Abwehr learning earlier of the possible surrender and keeping the King, PM and others hostage.
The German player would then have to heavily cover Rome, which could actually complicate the defense slightly, but of course would enjoy more Italian forces for longer (offset by any Allied custom adds).

As to the EF Box, the current Editor allows a starting Negative Value of down to -50 for Soviet potential. This takes about 5 turns to bleed off before the Soviets advance more readily. A simpler change to code might be to allow a much larger Negative Value that could represent a delayed Soviet advance either from an altered Kursk or Stalingrad outcome. And/Or you could allow the front to start at a number higher (more distant to Berlin) than hex 231. This coupled with a bitter end option could allow the alternate scenario of the Allies having to sweep all of the Reich until Berlin falls. Again, custom scenario play could be balanced if desired by Allied adds too.

Any map access that could be added for alternate WITW invasion sites would be very cool. But how to make that easier to code or present, I don't know. However, I think you could rely on the community to make custom scenarios or mods for WITW once the space/options were there.

I also thought of one more possible Editor feature to add to the pile. Item 6. It might be nice to be able to control the national Rate of Trained Pilot replacement.

Anyway, I can see the collective mega-dream of a detailed, weekly simulation (with real logistics and air-ground-naval integration) of all of WW2 or Euro-WW2 may become a reality someday too.

Pavel request, remove the negative characteristics of the dropped tanks, they were also thrown off before the battle.
Павел просьба, убрать отрицательные характеристики у сбрасываемых баков, их же скидывали перед началом битвы. Я могу много что изменять в этом великолепном редакторе, но думаю с помощью ваших инструментов это гораздо проще.

Drop tanks in most cases are dropped automatically before the battle, so you shouldn't care much of the negative impact they provide. Only in rare cases when opposition is not so strong and extra fuel is still required to reach the target, plane can get into combat with DT. Another case is when DTs are dropped and flight is cancelled after air combat as there is not enough fuel to reach the target.

You probably need to play with device settings if you want to change some particular type of efficiency. Depending on type of the target anti-soft, anti-armor, blast and effect can be modded.

Easiest way to change air efficiency across the board is to change pilot experience, but this will have impact everywhere, not only land targeting.

Is a ability of HE ammunition to inflict damage on "hard" (armored) targets.

Penetration, heat, hvap are used to to inflict AP damage on armored targets.

How can you add the vitality of industry? I raised the characteristics of bombs, the result was much better at bombing airfields and troops.
Как то можно прибавить живучесть промышленности ? я поднял характеристики бомб, на бомбардировки аэродромов и войск значительно лучше стал результат.
