Need some advise.

I am adding the CA Woomera. It has an impressive weapons loadout. I'm not sure how to put it in the slots?

4× 250 lb (113 kg) bombs internally in engine nacelle bays
and 4× 500 lb (224 kg) bombs
or 2× Mk XII, Mk XV or Mk 13 aerial torpedoes mounted under the fuselage
or 1× torpedo and 1× 293 imp gal (352 USG) external fuel tank mounted under the fuselage

Any ideas?

Thanks

RHS is the only mod I've played that has extensive variable weapons loadout for aircraft. I would download it just to see what Sid did. The installation process is very easy. If you cannot figure it out, PM him.

Too good to be true, i wonder what were the ranges with those load outs, you have to check weights. Seems also a very dismal aircraft, below durability - exploding in air! - and service level.

In 10-20 editor window put

Slot X 1× Mk XII, Mk XV or Mk 13 aerial torpedoes INT filter = 2 this makes it the primary weapon for anti ship
Slot X+1 1× Mk XII, Mk XV or Mk 13 aerial torpedoes XT filter = 2 idem
Slot X+2 4× 250 lb (113 kg) bombs INT filter=61 this means that load out is employed for all missions except ASW and primary anti ship
Slot X+3 2× 500 lb (224 kg) bombs XT filter=61 idem
Slot X+4 2× 500 lb (224 kg) bombs XT filter=61 idem
Slot X+5 4x500lb XT filter=64 for ASW check the weights.

In 0-10 editor window(extended range) put

Slot X 1× Mk XII, Mk XV or Mk 13 aerial torpedoes XT filter = 2 this makes it the primary weapon for anti ship - doubts here with XT i am not sure how weapons it works with XT fuel tank(*).
Slot X+1 1× drop tank XT filter = 2 this makes it the primary weapon for anti ship
Slot X+2 6× 250 lb (113 kg) bombs INT filter=61 this means that load out is employed for all missions except ASW and primary anti ship
Slot X+3 2 × 500 lb (224 kg) bombs XT filter=61 idem
Slot X+4 1 × Tank XT filter=61 same coment as above regarding XT fuel tank.
Slot X+5 4x250 XT filter=64 for ASW

From what i have read it is necessary that the filters in 0-10 tab correspond with 11-20 so i had to split the torpedoes and 500lb bombs in 2 slots.
(*)The other question is if XT fuel tank works with XT stores, you might have to fake it and put all stores internal. There are some tests in the forum made i think by JWE.

You should check the weights of fuel available for each load out. That is the primary thing to do to get the range.

This is how i've set it up in my mod

wpn 1 .303 browning mg x 2 centre-line
wpn 2 20mm hispano cannon x 2 centre-line
wpn 3 .303 browning mg x 4 rear
wpn 4 .303 vickers k mg x 1 bottom rear
wpn 5 250lb gp bomb x 4 internal filter 56 (ground,port and airfield attack)
wpn 6 500lb gp bomb x 4 external filter 56
wpn 7 mk xii torpedo x 1 external filter 2 (naval attack)
wpn 8 mk xii torpedo x 1 external filter 2
wpn 9 300 gal drop tank x 1 external
wpn 10 engine x 2 front

wpn 11 same as wpn 1
wpn 12 same as wpn 2
wpn 13 same sa wpn 3
wpn 14 same as wpn 4
wpn 15 250lb gp bomb x 2 internal filter 56
wpn 16 500lb gp bomb x 2 external filter 56
wpn 17 mk xii torpedo x 1 external filter 2
wpn 19 300gal drop tank x 1 external

wpn's 5,6,7 and 8 are normal range load
wpn's 15,16 and 17 are extended range load

use of drop tank should replace one line of external ordnance i.e.
on naval attack this should mean loosing 1 x torpedo
on ground, port, airfield attack this should mean loosing the 500lb bombs

range appears to be around 2000 miles with 1 x torpedo and 1 x drop tank

hope the above helps and works correctly pita for me and my mod if it doesn't

Thanks everyone. I have read that 500lbers are substituted for torepedos. I am happy with that.

Dili: I am wondering about the regular range of the aircraft myself. I don't have a lot of info on this plane, besides what you find on Wikipedia and another website. I put the SR as 4 for the the CA4 with a 20 something durability. Due to plane being rushed into service and having a few flaws. Now th CA11 has an SR of 2 and low 30s durability.

Iron Duke: Thanks. If you don't mind me asking what did you put in for your range and other values? I might look at your weapon slots for when I get home.

Thanks everyone. If you all have anything else to add or say. Please say it.

Range is a work in progress

at present i've got the following

rng normal 660 (9 hexes)
rng extended 830 (11 hexes)
rng max 1060 (27 hexes)

rng normal dt 1000 (13 hexes)
rng extended dt 1200 (15 hexes)
rng max dt 1400 (35 hexes)

as only one ca-11 flew there is little performance info - wikipedia gives range as 2225 miles with 1 x torpedo and 1 x dt which would give a normal rng w/dt as 27 hexes same range as a b-29. so my dt ranges are probably at 50%
without proper data i'm looking to give it roughly the same ranges as a beaufighter x perhaps a bit more?

Australian designed plane. Close to the Beaufort.

You have to get plane weights. Only then you can calculate the range with equipment. Note that range available in wiki is probably projected range.

I don't know how to calculate that. Do you just need empty and max weights?

You need the fuel weight for a certain armament weight then you can compare with an operational similar aircraft(configuration, max weight, power ) if it is or not too good. Beaufighter or Beaufort came to mind.
I strongly doubt this kind of range with 2 engines and such big load of defensive weapons a torpedo even with a external fuel tank.

You are putting in your scenario an aircraft that only was build 2 different specimen. Project characteristics are usually too optimistic.

Maybe ask this guy, he might have the projected weights

Dili:
I sent a message to the person who operates that site. No response as of yet. I have looked around at aircraft of a similar size, mission, number of engines and such. I also dug deeper into the internet and found a few more websites (more reputable than wiki). They all give about the same info. One tidbit I missed was that they said it had better performance and better range than contemporary aircraft. I will post any info I get.

You will not get other not dubious performance info unless you have test data even then the aircraft was not reliable so what would be the performance when fixed then? we will never know.

What i am trying to say is that existing performance data is just a paper it is not funded in anything real. Only 2 planes were made and probably there isn't even a complete tests made with defective aircraft. One plane exploded in air, the other only flew a small number of tests apparently.
