LUA52 error

Hi,

I just got Northern Inferno on Steam, I get the "Failed to load Lua!" error. Lua52.dll is present in the folder. I've read the thread started by Sator (in 2014) and apparently solved by Tomcat (I'd post the link but I'm not allowed!), I've tried the fix there and had no joy.

I also tried verifying the cache through Steam.

What now?

Hi

You must install the latest Visual C++ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 install.

Use the x86 version even if you are running a 64 bit system

Thank you for your reply, Søren. As I mentioned, I tried the fix I found on the forum (which was installing the latest Visual C++, the x86 version) and it hasn't worked for me.

FWIW I am running 64-Bit Win7.

I'll keep fiddling around and see if I can work it out.

I had the same problem, it's fixed by installing the MS update KBtwo-nine-nine-nine-two-two-six (forum wouldn't let me post numbers or links)for Universal C Runtime.

Hi, yes, I was planning on posting later today, you beat me to the punch. Personally, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the Visual C++ files a couple more times, in the end it just worked.
