Great, thanks

You'd have to work hard to get them to arrive at the same second! But it would probably happen at least once I guess.

It looks like the ships in port should be triggering a 'unit destroyed'. I have logged a ticket for it

Thanks Michael

Thought that might be happening based on AndrewJ's report, but wasn't sure. In the new version those ships should leave the dock and anchor just off shore, a reasonable behavior I think.

Would be good if the trigger would work in either case though - thanks.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but the Barracks in Tripoli has a lowercase B, also the French Carrier Groups Close ASW is not relative to the ship and is only static, thought these might want to be corrected in the longrun or maybe I nitpick too much :P

Not nitpicking at all. That's how these get better. Will fix those, someone mentioned the French groups RPs before but I missed fixing it the last time.

Thanks, appreciate the help.

Mig 21s tasked for Souda strike from Gamal Abd El Nasser airbase not taking off due to range to target, suggest changing to long range load out.

Just a couple things, which you might already know, noted while reading about the CW in the Med :

  • there have been a quite active Soviet anchorage at Kythera (Greece) ("floating rear" in international waters). "Soviet auxiliary vessels also regularly undergo major repair work at the British-run but Greek-owned Neorion shipyards, on the Aegean island of Syros".
    https://www.csmonitor.com/1983/0331/033154.html
    http://hellasfrappe.blogspot.be/2012/02/russian-naval-force-in-mediterranean.html
  • Soviet basing rights :
    - Syria : Lataquié, Tartus
    - Egypt : Alexandria (until 1976)
    - Algeria : Mers El Kébir? (droit d'escale et de transit, transit and basing rights)
    - Albania (in the 60s)
  • 5th Eskadra is dedicated to the Mediterranean sea
  • France have Defense agreements with Tunisia and Morocco. And both have some form of disagreements with their neighbors (Mauritania and Morocco are quite unpleased that Algeria supports Polisario forces; Tunisia does have a tense relationship with Libya)
  • In 1986, in "retaliation" to Eldorado Canyon operation, Libya launched two SS-1c Scud-B at Lampedusa (to hit USCG LORAN station). With F-104S reinforcements sent to Sigonella (12 from XXI gruppo/53rd Stormo from Trapani, 18 from XVIII Gruppo already there), the 134th Remote Radar Squadron deployed its AN/AFPS-8 radar to Lampedusa and a SIGINT station was constructed. One Hawk SAM site was also deployed at Lampedusa. A Tornado detachment from the 61st Stormo and 3 MB.339A from the Lecce Air Academy were forward-deployed at Panteleria. While nothing actually happen, plans were elaborated and constantly upgraded "just in case of another ho-headed action of Gaddafi" (Africa@War 22).

    Thanks Jan

Was aware of the basing issues, but not of 'Syros'. I got much of my background from this 1987 RAND paper: https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/papers/2008/P7388.pdf

The comments at the bottom of page 16 and into page 17 are interesting in today's context.

I had no idea of the 'Lampedusa' events. Very interesting, I may have to beef-up the station there with a Sigint and perhaps some HAWK split between Panteleria and Lampedusa.

    Thanks
